  • Do you think all this has changed the way you do your shopping ? Now i leave the kids at home and have a proper look - both at what i am buying and the receipts.

I was previously fool enough to say that I ALWAYS keep my cool getting R & R . That was until last Friday, in Mr Ts, getting R & R on approx £14 worth of stuff ( a measly amount - not my best day). Went to CS with 2 chickens which was pack price different to SEL, and some colgate regular toothpaste which was two different SELs. Woman on CS had major attitude problem from the off. Told her I had been overcharged and she immediately stomped off from desk saying " come and show me then..." . so we got to offending shelves where she tries to tell me that i have not been overcharged on chicken as there were two lots on the shelf at different prices, and that the SEL relates to the cheaper one and I bought the dearer one. (lol!!!... nice try missus!) . we spend 10 minutes there arguing (yes really ) about it before we move on to the toothpaste. She then tries to tell me that the cheaper SEL does not relate to "regular" toothpaste it relates to the "cavity protection " one ... doh!, it has cavity protection written on the side of the box. She will not have it ( even though it definately does) AND there are about 200 of them stacked above that SEL. another 5 minutes of arguing there, before she strides away from me, muttering about getting the manager over.

back at cs desk she calls for meat manager, same arguement for another 10 minutes. I of course know my rights and stand my ground while she very loudly states that I am in the wrong. She says " i'll have to get another manager over...." at which point I am already simmering, ready to blow and as calmly as possible I say... Please do get the manager and ask them to come quick' cos if we stand here much longer that blo*dy meat will be cooked, it has been on the counter for 20 minutes already. More humming and hawing, several members of staff arrive to give their worthless and unneccessary opinion.

Meanwhile the queue (or maybe just interested crowd) behind me at the cs desk has swelled to at least 20 people.
Some supervisor bloke arrives and admits that the incorrect SEL DOES relate to that toothpaste. Do i get an apology ??? NO WAY. CS woman is on phone to "manager" and comes off the phone and get this says in a snotty voice loud enough for the 10 people directly behind me to hear..... " Technically we are right and you are wrong, but on this occasion we will give you the refund "
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So in a voice loud enough for the 20 people behind me and everyone else in a 30 feet radius of the CS desk I say... " Really, well actually, TECHNICALLY, you are wrong, and I am right, you cannot have two different prices out for the same product and charge the more expensive one, whenever you see fit. Besides which, your own policy, which is here on the front of your desk, quite clearly states " In the unlikely event.... etc..etc..." I gave them it chapter and verse, read straight off the poster , much to the interest of the crowd behind me who I could hear moving in for a better look!!! When I'd finished reading i said, " now which bit of that don't you understand.?"
The rest off the staff stood like goldfish opening and closing their mouths while she just glowered at me, opened the till and counted the money out.
No apology, no sorry for just trying to humiliate me in front of a whole shop.
Absolutely disgraceful. probably THE worst customer service I have ever encountered.
So there you have it, so much for keeping calm !

Sorry that was soooo long... just had to get it off my chest!! That's not all though , when i get home i get a call from my SIL whose brother works in T's and tells me that he was hauled into the office and asked what his connection is to me !! ( we are just on nodding terms) They obviously think he is passing me info on misprices. She said that they had told him that they are going to "put the CCTV cameras onto me " and have someone following me around the store whenever I go in " Still lol everytime I think about it. I can just imagine them training CCTV cameras on 1 person ! Will get my mates to go in at the same time if that's the case... that'll confuse them .lol!

Contact the Store Manager would be my advise. Better to try and resolve the issue than let it fester.

Happens all the time Firework. Quite right to tell the other 20 at CS desk what their rights are re RRs. When T behaves like this he's only shooting himself in the foot. You'll find the word will spread round like wildfire. Take the family in for a spree RRing......nice long queue at CS desk!!!!!!!!!!!

The way fireworks been treated by T, it doesn't look as though its resolvable.
I would give T as good as I get on this one.
    Wouldn't you Constantine???

How do you spot misprices on electrical goods?
Besides out-of-date SEL's (yellow ones) and physically self scanning products is there any other tell-tale way of knowing??

Look out for 2 different prices displayed for the same products.
