I'd like to take advantage of this R&R as I shop at Tesco, but not sure how it would work. The posts on the other thread of misprices people have got already, would they be applicable everywhere or just the Tesco they went to? Or would I need to allocate a couple of hours to go to my Tesco and make a note of the SEL then scan it on the handy scanners around the store and if it's higher buy it then get my money back????? Please help someone!!!Official DFW Nerd no. 082! :cool:Debt @ 01/01/2014 £16,956 Debt now: £0.00 :j

 I had a real @rsey CS girl last night. I was 'overcharged' on one Butter Basted Chicken. The sticker on the bag itself said 3.99, the SEL specifically stated £2.99 Butter Basted Chickens. Next to them on the same shelf further to the left on the display was Lemon & Garlic Chickens. Now I made a point of choosing exactly the correct one. I spent £70 in Tesco last night. And came away with nothing that was r&r. I had a major row with CS Assistant, who went to check if the chicken was mis-priced and left me standing their with my trolly full of shopping bags, she said you are welcome to come with me to which I replyed 'how can I, whose going to look after my shopping (no one around) I'll have to stay here. So off she trots, comes back 5mins earlier and says I'm sorry but you are mistaken, its 2.99 for the Lemon & Garlic ones. I said I know they have the 2.99 sticker on those ones, I did check but I don't like those ones thats why I chose this one. She said you are wrong. A big argument ensued, she went back again to look and came back with the same answer and got about 3 other members of staff involved. All staring at me and backing her up. I said 'look, forget it for the sake of £1 difference, but I will be scrutenising my receipts from now on.
 The staff are sooo nasty and argumentaive. I really did feel like throwing the chicken at her. I doubt very much their 'customer service' skills. Ricoh store.0 -
Hi cheekylittlemonkey. Sounds similar to my experience last week at Cross Point. SEL clearly stated £2.99, pack and scanned @ £3.99. CS refused r&r as the barcode on the SEL was different so obviously refered to a different product. How many 1.5kg butter-basted in-the-bag chickens do they stock?!!
Never mind - just think how much better you'll feel when you get your next r&r, revenge is sweet.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
Hi
I recently bought 4 metal framed 'directors chairs' for the garden from my local Tesco. They were individually packaged with 4 chairs to the 1 display box on the shelf and both the box and the shelf ticket read £9.something. It did not state per chair, although this was obviosly what it should have been.
On checking out I was obviously charged £40, I immediately went to customer service desk and quibbled this and played dumb. I already knew but kept quiet on the rule about my right to purchase as described etc.
I got my £40. refunded and kept the 4 chairs, an appology for the misleading ticket prices! They said it was refunded on grounds of they had to match what the offer said - as I mentioned earlier!
I am now sitting in the garden on my wirless laptop smiling to myself!

I managed to find one of the camera/printer bundles in my local store with the offer SEL of £149.97, but as expected it scanned at £229.97. I was told I could have the difference, but stood my ground and eventually the manager came down and said that because the offer was in date but the tills price changed at 6pm the R & R policy didn't apply, I was only entitled to the difference. I politely told him I thought he was wrong and got the customer service manager down, so after examining the bar code with a magnifying glass to ensure it was the correct product (like that was going to work!),and reading the R & R sign to see if there was any way out, she then gave me the full refund. Took ages, but they were all very pleasant about it, but to say the price changes at 6pm and R & R doesn't apply..... perleeeze!0

Some of the R+Rs are nationwide, some are specific stores, so it really is a matter of chance if it works in your store. It can take an awfully long time to "check" each price on the instore scanner and you can look quite sus doing it too, so just focus on a few items you are more likely to have included with your shopping anyway.
The easiest R+Rs to spot that you know will be mispriced are the meat/cheese items which have a different price per kg on the shelf when compared to the price per kg on the package...CS sometimes play dumb with this one as you are paying the price you see on the package, but it helps if you tell them you expected the checkout to recaluclate at the new price per kg else you are getting less meat for your money than they have advertised it for.
The thrill of hunting down R+Rs has passed for me, but I still get at least 1 each month by writing down the price of everything on my shopping list when it goes in the trolley instead of just ticking it off.
All the best in Sunny Sussex by the sea  Oh we're the men from Sussex, sussex by the sea...I'm not going to stop singing that all day now...thanks!:rotfl:Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I got out of bed last night and nipped out to my local 24hr tesco to try and find the digital camera/printer before midnight but no luck. I didn't get the maltesers or the gba games iether. Maybe my local Tesco is more on the ball than most but I'll keep trying.0

I can see a reason for customer service problems. But first I was pleased to have my first R&R the other day on a fresh chicken. Unfortunately it seems they have changed the goalposts on that one now. A possible reason for reluctant refunding, so my pleasant CS lady explained, is that management are watching out for staff fraud and I therefore had to sign for mine.0

Why do they want your name and address? They have no right to ask for this. If you paid by card they will have details, but if it was cash you can remain anonymous. What a cheek!
As for someone getting the sack, why should you worry? You are exercising your rights under their policy. If incompetent staff are sacked, so what? There are too many people doing their jobs badly in the service sector.0
