I have watched in wonderment and frustration to see Kingsmill sit at 89p per loaf with Hovis at 96p. Then every four weeks or so Kingsmill goes up 7p to match Hovis.
Very annoying.
However the price rise on Kingsmill to 96p this week gets you one free, a small price to pay, but this deosn't happen every time.
Thoughts anyone?:o
It is common for items to suffer a price increase prior to promotion it's nothing new just another supermarket con trick, only the regular purchasers of the item usually notice but the supermarkets bank on you still feeling like you have got a bargain, usually once the promotion is over the price will drop again slightly but not back to its original price, just a price increase by stealth.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

What's an "extra clip machine"? I saw the Tesco misprices website and it said "Check it on Extra clip machine"
I think that was posted by me!
In the very large EXTRA stores they have special scanning machines that play either exerts from the games (when you scan them) or musictracks from the CD's. The impotrant thing here is that they often display the price of the scanned prodct. If this differs (which it often does) from the SEL and it's lower, then you have a possible misprice! It does not matter where the price is displayed you should always pay the lowest!Keep SmilingSite member number 24

Don't know about everyone else but don't you get sick of too much of the same product, after the novelty of getting it free has worn off?
My lot of little Coupons are are all fed up (literally) to the back teeth with Maltesers at the moment!! Can we have a misprice on toothpaste please?
It's also too easy an R&R, I couldn't be bothered with it today. One local shop has SELs on the end aisles as well as on the sweets shelves, all saying Maltesers are included in the 2 for £2 offer (I have had Malteser R&R twice there already this week and they only removed one of the many SELs...they could spend ages removing them and I reckon I'd still find a wrong SEL there if I was so inclined).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

the poor cashier woman was very upset as she said she'd get 'told off' for not checking the prices (SEL's were one price, stickers on items were another, scanned at higher price)
what's the human cost of R+R?, who gets the blame?, are there consiquences?
thanks guys...........
Perhaps, if the cashier has had issues before (double scanning, incorrect reductions etc). However, there is no way for her to know the SEL prices being sat on a till and pre-priced products are regulary a different price (generally lower, but still...).
Refund reason codes are reviewed daily (or at least should be) and any caused by pricing errors should be investigated. Any "heat" should be dirrected at Price Integrity for not following their routines or at Replenishment for not following theirs. Or at HO for another balls up :rolleyes:Who or what was I before you came in to my life

). Certainly the ones that were stickered up at £3.99 went thru the till at that today. One thing to bear in mind, though. It says on the pack they can't be frozen so don't go too mad.
One thing I found with these chickens is that they don't cook to my liking in the bags, bit slimy. So I take them out of the bag and roast them like an ordinary chicken. They stay very tender and the skin crisps up.0 -

I had my first R&R session yesterday and was a mixed success, just wanted to share my experience.
Went looking for the Camera/Printer bundle in my local Tesco 24hr but they didn't stock them.
OH works near Tesco Extra and he found the promotional boxes but they were all marked at the higher price... no sign or sticker anywhere indicating they were £149.xx so no overcharging - perhaps somebody else got there first!
Back to me in 24hr Tesco, was a bit cautious as was my first time and the shop doesn't have an aisle scanner. Many of the items mentioned on the misprice thread had already had the SELs removed or were packaged at the higher price. e.g. butter chicken and farm reared pork chops.
Eventually after wandering around (seemingly aimlessly) with only a few other bits in my trolley (probably looking like a total looney!) I plumped for the 2 for £3 Finest Sausages. Picked up one packed marked with the 2 for £3 sticker and one without, (checked the SEL which just said Finest Sausages £1.99 packs 2 for £3 - ie didn't limit the offer to certain varieties)
Offer didn't come off at the check out- said nothing and trundled off to CS with my receipt... Lady was really nice, looked at my sausages and said, the one not with the sticker wasn't included in the offer, would I like to change it for one that did?.. I politely said, "oh I did wonder that but I thought it just hadn't been stickered as the sign on the shelf said all the premium sausages were 2 for £3" She then wanders off and comes back with the offending SEL - "these ones aren't included in the offer but that isn't what the sign says, I'm very sorry about that." she says and issues me a full refund!!
Such a good feeling!! Sausages taste so much better for being free!
Anyone have any hints/tips etc to make next trip more successful?
Is it better to go first thing in the morning/or a particular day of the week? Does everyone shop in stores with aisle scanners?
Thanks0
