Ben, it is lovely to meet someone who knows the policies of a company better than those who work for them. It must be wonderful to have more knowledge than anyone else and especially those who are actually in posession of the official refund policy documentation. Please come into the stores and help us to interpret the aforementioned documents in a way that suits your own needs at all times.

The op was not charged more than the advertised price....the advertised price was the one which scanned through the till. A discount should then have been applied which in this instance wasn't. No overcharge, simply a non application of a manual discount.

I would seriously suggest that you attend a boxing club or somewhere that may give you an outlet as you seem particularly het up with regards to Tesco, perhaps an alternative outlet may bring down your stress levels.:D

And seeing as you chose to raise the issue of pedantics perhaps you would like to explain the contridiction between the emboldened/red text above and the below statement from your sig

Any opinions voiced are entirely my own and in no way represent those of anyone but me, corporate or otherwise.

Do you speak for Tesco or do you speak for yourself make up your mind!

Who's greed are you referring to? Tesco for continually overcharging on the chicken breasts or the op for being overcharged on SO MANY!
What's the point of all these personal replies to spa2k when he's stated you're on his ignore list? I assure you, the rest of us aren't a bit interested
    Can I help?

Is there an electronic equivalent of sending these two boys to their rooms? That's what I do when mine start fighting, and they can't come out again until they apologise :D
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.
  • in the past Ive got mobile phones on r+r after this offer has expired. managers have always given me r+r after complying by buying £40 of products and the phone.
as for till operators errors. note if something was reduced and the till operators missed the reduced sticker and scanned the original bar code would r+r be given in spa2k way of saying no. but in the past Ive been given full refund for this aways without even asking for r+r.
i think some stores follow different procedures on r+R and some staff just don't know the policy properly or that not to issue r+r at any time and remove sels to persuasive customers from complaining in the future.
look what happened to me the other week i was told off by a duty manager for looking at my receipt before leaving the store. but arn't u suppose to do that. what is a receipt for then? to put it in Ur pocket and then bin it without looking at it.
also told i must be a pro shopper because i looked at the shelf prices before i bought something. what do tesco staff think their customers are zombies or plain stupid? or could it be that the staff they employ are teed off with the attitude of their managers and don't care about customer service and politeness and that the customer is aways wrong. but in most shops the saying is the customer is always right. by saying this they get free public relations advertising by word of mouth.
or has tescos got so big that they forget what can happen is someone says something wrong like the jewer rattners say his goods were crap. he went bust by the way same thing could happen to tesco if loads of people find out about their overcharging ways and move with their feet to a different supermarket Chain like asda or sainsburys

as for the original op posting i say to her ring cs head office tomorrow when it is open and go and get Ur r+r refund if u still have the phone. if u got a full refund and gave the phone back there is not a lot more u can do. just accept it as a bad result and next time learn from this episode. and get even with the next r+R u find.
:rotfl: given up on tesco do a lot os boots offers. but weekends are now in orange trackside b. lol

Why would anyone want to do this when Tesco are so anxious to give us free goodies???

  • but are they?
please note it is a small % of customers who do r+r
a small % who check their receipt and complain
and large % who trust tescos for their price promises and trust them .
but if there were informed about how often they paid more than they should and did not know the policy they often change their shopping habits and tell everyone about it at work, down the pub with their mates and people listen and take stock. and shop else where. remember not long ago tesco was nearly bankrupt but they got there act together and are no.1 but a small incident of overcharging may cause then to drop to no 5

Dont be under the illusion that other retailers do not miss price as well - I have shopped at Asda twice and was overcharged both times. But they do not have the same policy as Tesco, and so do not get mentioned.

Absolutely! Your are just as likely to get overcharged in any of the main supermarkets as you are in Tesco, I personally have never disputed or questioned such a claim
