mandy_moo_1 wrote:Well i'm absolutely LIVID at the mo  Just got back from tesco, and their healthy living chicken breasts are STILL priced wrong...the SEL stated £9.44kg but the pack price said £9.81kg.
I bought 3 packets, took em to CS, waited at the desk whilst she went off to check the shelf...10 minutes later she comes back with a smug look on a face, clutching a shelf label that said £9.81kg!!!
I insisted on going back to the fridge where i'd got them from, and lo and behold! the original SEL was gone! I told her it was obvious to me that she'd brought a new label to show me just to get out of honouring their policy, and she got really snotty with me.
i had to insist on a straight refund for the chicken, took her name, and have just telephoned head office CS to complain...they're supposed to be getting back to me....well, better not hold my breath then, had I?
Still, the kids say i shouldn't moan too much, cos we've already got 48 chicken breasts and 2 organic legs of lamb out of them this week cos they've never bothered to change the SEL until today.....so that serves 'em right!!
I always make an effort to go with them - just in case they can't find it!!!!!!!0 -
Clasics wrote:I would also imagine the fact that the CS rep 'got away' with just issuing a refund of the overprice would be 'flagged up' on the system in some way (a different code to the full R&R?) and they may get praise from 'on high' thereby perpetuating the dishonest practice?
No, this categorically does NOT happen.
Not particularly aimed at you clasics but it amazes me how much people like to speculate on the systems that Tesco have to monitor how much they have defrauded from their customers!! IT systems development costs an absolute fortune and if you look at some of the systems we work with you would be amazed at how old they are. For tesco to invest money to monitor how many of their staff do not follow policy and then praise them for it is more than a little unrealistic.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

mandy_moo_1 wrote:Yep....that's EXACTLY how they made me feel today.Anyone would think it was coming straight out of their pocket!!
Once again, it is.....just as it is coming out of the pocket of every shareholder of Tesco PLC. It also affects staff wages. Yes, the CS assistants give the attitude to the wrong people, they should vent their frustrations at the Price Integrity staff or whoever put out an incorrect label / POS however every R&R does indirectly come out of the CS staff pockets. One could also argue (and others have too) that in the end it is the customer who will pay as no company would put up with making losses without raising prices.

linzz wrote:Yesterday I tried my first R & R on a samsung d500 that was offered as having £20 off if spending over £40 in store. However, the £20 wasn't taken off so off I went to CS desk where they offered me the £20 difference, at which point I mentioned their policy on being overcharged. She got another CS assisant who finally got a manager (as my partner who had left me to deal with it had got peed off with them trying to fob me off and was not going to accept anything but a full refund!)
Their first argument was that the shelf price said £149.97 and that was what we had been charged even though I said it also had a price of £129.97 which is what we should have been charged. She said she had checked the shelf before she came to the CS desk and there was no SEL with the cheaper price which she seemed happy to prove to us. When we back to the phones there was no SEL and yet all the other phones in the offer did have one. She then said that it was an operator error as she should have applied the £20 discount and their policy did not cover operator error! I said I had still been overcharged and that the policy should apply. She said we could have a full refund but give the phone back or have the £20 which she kept waving under our noses at which point my partner asked for the address of HO to complain to as he wasn't going to accept the £20. She asked for my name, address and phone no. I thought for someone to get in touch but then she handed over their customer service address and telephone no. and kept my details-? All this time she kept trying to get us to take the £20 anyway which OH wouldn't do as he said if we did we'd have no chance of getting a refund!
I felt I was right to get a full refund and keep the phone but this manager was not going to budge and neither was my OH!
Should we have just taken the £20 or should I ring customer services and try and get the full amount refunded?
I cant believe that stores STILL arent getting this right and that customers are still trying to claim R&R from it. You were charged the correct price for the phone as indicated on the SEL. The POS says that the £20 is deducted when you spend £40 or more. This is a manual deduction made at the checkout by the cashier, it also only applies to Tesco branded mobiles. It is an operator error, there was no error in either the shelf pricing or the POS. In this instance a £20 refund and a complete apology should be given, not R&R.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

As for the do we really need to go through the greed debate again? Fair play, you got lots of free goodies and that is entirely the stores fault but boasting about it really doesnt make you look good.

You were charged a higher price than that displayed it may be convenient for Tesco to disperse the blame amongst it's employees but the fact is Tesco is responsible not the checkout operator, chase your r&r linzz if you don't get it report them to Trading Standards better still report them anyway, this is just another example of an employee interpreting circumstances to suit themselves, as for Spa's comments just more misinformation from another employee, r&r applies under these circumstances no matter how much the staff may tell you otherwise, if in doubt read the policy wording yourself and then ask them how being charged more than the display is not included.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
spa2k wrote:care to elaborate why or are we just slating peoples opinions with no reason ???
For the same reasons as we have discussed in the threads before spa as well you know, I'm not going to repeat myself everytime you question your own companies policies procedures and activities when you clearly have a biased viewpoint.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Ben, it is lovely to meet someone who knows the policies of a company better than those who work for them. It must be wonderful to have more knowledge than anyone else and especially those who are actually in posession of the official refund policy documentation. Please come into the stores and help us to interpret the aforementioned documents in a way that suits your own needs at all times.
The op was not charged more than the advertised price....the advertised price was the one which scanned through the till. A discount should then have been applied which in this instance wasn't. No overcharge, simply a non application of a manual discount.
I would seriously suggest that you attend a boxing club or somewhere that may give you an outlet as you seem particularly het up with regards to Tesco, perhaps an alternative outlet may bring down your stress levels.:DFight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
