Huge debate this afternoon. Tried for r&r on carlsberg export (Large SELS everywhere claiming 24 x 30ml bottles, 2 boxes for £16 , they only stock boxes of 20 bottles). Bought my boxes, went through till @ £16.
Off to cs explaining that when I'd got to car, realised I only had 20 bottles in each box & I'd thought I was getting 48 bottles for £16, but I'd only got 40. A trip to the beer aisle and a conference with a manager ensued.
Her argument consisted mainly of "but the offer is for 24 bottles per box, you've picked up the 20 bottles per box, so you haven't been overcharged as you haven't bought the item on the SEL"
Me: "But you don't sell the item on the SEL! I picked up the boxes under the signs assuming they were 24 bottles per box. I've paid for 48 bottles, I've only got 40, therefore I've been overcharged"
Her: "No you haven't, because you haven't bought the item on the SEL"
etc., etc., etc.
Gave up after 10 mins of going round in circles as had to be somewhere.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -

Did the SEL (not the poster) say 24 pack or 20 pack?
I have only seen an SEL for the 20 pack personally.....Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.

The burdon is on the store to provide clear and unambiguous labelling not the customer to scrutinise the small print, if a sel indicates a price for a product in this case carlsberg and the product placement is one of carlsberg then you are justified in your claim irrespective of the weight or quantity declaration as you have been led to believe the product placed immediately in front of the sel is one price when in fact it is another, there is no doubt whatsoever that r&r should apply under these circumstances.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

got told off today at Burton tescos by duty manager Steve
. microwave with grill MTG06 sel 44.99 went thought 49.99
and tescos lamb joint with Rosemary pack 3.99 till 4.99
checked receipt at till and double checked on the way to the c.s desk.
inform the c.s girl about the microwave went to look and came back the price was correct so i said i will show u. face hight was the large label 44.99 . told it was not the same model. but i said it was and compared the labels witch was the same model and decryption. she fetched a manager and came back to me. said r+r does not apply to electrical goods and only £5 would be given back to me no problem with that then said the lamb was wrong. she then fetched the manager to me and was told that i must be a pro shopper because i checked my receipt before leaving the store and this IS NOT ALLOWED AND IF I DO IT AGAIN I WOULD BE BANNED the offer on the microwave of 5 pounds would stand but full refund on the lamb. and that he would be informed that i was in the store every time i went in. i have spotted mis prices in this store for a few weeks and posted for others on mse but have not done r+r for 2 months in his store.
You had them on r&r for the micro too that's pants about it not applying to electricals, you can always call head office and get this confirmedFour guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0
