Yes SPA2K it is the white cabbage that has a label placing it in the 5 for 4 offer. It shouldn't be there as it is a variable weight item but what can you do! Can't let a good offer like that one go!

too true....and well done for getting the R&R!!

I must be loosing my touch, I had a manager come up with a really convincing argument as to why on the failed 5 for 4 veg deal he only had to refund the cheapest item once (as it should have been), and then a second time (as that is the only item I was overcharged on) instead of giving me a refund on all 5. Stubborn as I am, even I was almost convinced by the time he had finished <g> I really must get more practise in.

    Great fun today.

Some Dude here told me that Tesco Worcester Warndon CS Staff were a nightmare - always refused R&Rs.

Work took me in that direction so decided to poke my nose in.

Loads of meat wrongly priced - but not being greedy grabbed myself some wrongly priced duck.

Paid - off to CS - very small but hard-nosed type lady there.

Did the Hugh Grant style 'crumbs I think I was charged too much' line.

The fun began - she tried to stop me accompanying her to the duck aisle - The Dude insisted.

Tried to make out that the SEL was for "the special offer duck" and not the "normal duck".

    And on and on.

Back to CS desk - she still wouldn't give in.

I even read, to the delight of a few chosen Dudes, the Tesco policy out to her in my best Forest Gump voice.

Anyhow, a bit more aggro - when I suggested a call to HO she caved.

"No skin off my nose" - yeah - The Dude Abides.

So Dudes - if you are near or passing Tesco Worcester Warndon - get in on my jihad and do some R&R - ask for the CS lady just under 5 foot tall with the sore nose,

    Duder

I am in that area tomorrow - think I will call in and say 'hello'.

pre-packed items are items that are sold at a specific price and weight. Cabbages are not classed as prepacked as they are weighed at the checkouts....thus the 5 for 4 offer does not apply (i assume you are talking about the white cabbage).

Cabbages come in an open plastic bag with a bar code. The code is the same for all cabbages as they are sold by class not weight. P.S. What other colour does cabbage come in?

My OH was told the same thing a while back. Although he argued that an overcharge was an overcharge, whether you spot it one side of the entrance or the other. He was R&R-ed okay, but now he walks out the store with a puzzled look on his face as he's looking at his receipt, before turning round and heading for the CS desk... The rest, they say, is history.

From what I remeber of Tesco's old advertising on television for R&R, Mrs M and her daughter don't leave the store before she goes and gets here bananas free for being overcharged by 1p.

EDIT = IGNORE ABOVE... CABBAGE != (does not equal) Cauliflower, Doh!

Green, Savoy, Sweetheart (not you, the variety ;) ).

White cabage comes catchweight (usually sliced in half), the others do not.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure

The transaction is completed once Tesco accept your money and issue you with a receipt, whether you have left the store or not is of no consequence! This excuse is proffered on the basis that you have not stolen an item until you have left the store which again is scrotum, r&r applies if they overcharge you not if you have left the store after being overcharged or if you are wearing a pink cardigan with a bagpuss motif and carrying a Ken Dodd tickle stick or any other twaddle they want to spout.

I think this post is in the wrong forum, but as its a reply to a previous post I can't see any option but to answer it here.

I've moved it to the Discussion thread for you so we keep the Misprices thread just for misprices. :)

Indeed, maybe I should have used a smiley such as :rotfl: or possibly :j, even ;) or  in my message to suggest it is bovinae manure.

Got full RnR on both.....£35 in total.......Although I was asked for name and address for refund.

I was too, for less than £2 in cheese spread. Do we have to give it to them. They can then tie your name and address to your bank details from the transaction. Suppose you could give a false one :)
