If were thinking of the same 'things' then all promotional material clearly states "Reduced Prices as Shown".

    actually, it doesn't.......

    so, get in there

there's a phone that has no previous price on it, and doesnt scan through at the 10% off price

the leaflet says 'off ALL phones', yet the store had a mix of various SEL's, some with 10% off, some without, the without all scan at a lower price, EXCEPT that one phone

the excuse of the manager 'it came in stock after the offer, so isn't included in the offer.......

i would have argued it, but i had the missus with me, and the bloke had accused me of opening the phone as the warranty stickers were lifting off where someone had re-sealed them, the guy basically implied that either i take a full refund and give the phones back, or go away.........if you push it, go away

    fill your boots guys
    money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

    Let me get this right....

If an item is marked price "x" on the shelf, but when scanned at the till, it is higher. Then after paying for it, if I go to Customer Services (CS) I will get a refund for the full amount paid plus i get to keep the product ?

What if they simply offer me the difference ?

Sorry if this is a daft question. Just want to make sure.

Yes that's right, you get a full refund, plus keep the item!

Just wondering, what does "SEL" stand for? Sorry if I'm being thick!

Remind them of Tesco's Policy.."if things don't add up". There is usually a return display/poster behind CS till.

having read the link, the article is from nearly 3 years ago and to be fair, the speed that the technology moves at is rather rapid and most of the information is probably out of date by now.

Your dead right rfid technology has advanced massively since the article with Tesco taking taking most of the advances on board.

My home address is now listed on their database as a regional warehouse:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

This happened to me on my first ever R&R, and if I hadn't known better from this site, I would have taken it. The sa offered to refund the difference between the SEL and the price I had been charged, but I simply looked innocent ( not easy when I was SO excited at my first r&R) and said
"But don't Tesco do Refund and R....?" I never even finished my sentence before the sa was opening the till and handing me both the item and refunding the full amount I had been charged !!

WOW - take a couple days off and all hells broken loose. I apologise to anyone who I have offended - I was merely stating my personal opinion. If you want to r&r then go ahead. My problem is with individuals who exploit the system which will result in Tescos cracking down (and reading through the thread it appears that this is already happening) which makes life harder for everyone with extended arguments at the CS desk and bans etc etc. I only shop at Tescos for a few items that I can't get elsewhere - I prefer to use local shops for meat and fruit & veg and Lidls for other items such as pasta etc. I do not therefore have any vested interest and am NOT an employee of Tesco. I feel sorry for CS staff who have to deal with this day in and day out and if I were in their shoes having to deal with the same indviduals who are in every other day with R&R and with several identical items I would be pretty peed off too. Dont Abuse The System and you won't get banned. Finally, as I have previously stated, you are paying overall in higher charges for your groceries - Tesco's profits don't go down - and their suppliers are screwed into the ground over prices or else they go out of business - its as simple as that. I don't contribute that much to their prices or shareholders profits, although I wouldn't mind becoming a shareholder when you consider their profits.....just not an employee dipping out on decent wages to sustain those r&r's

I feel sorry for customers who pay more for their shopping than the SEL said and don't realise that it is Tesco policy to compensate them when they blatantly overcharge them. As you can see by this and the misprices thread this happens daily. Tesco publicise this policy therefore they should stick to it, if they overcharge me everyday then they should R&R everyday. If they can't fulfil this policy without being rude to customers or trying to wriggle out of their mistakes then they should disband this policy.
Its simple if Tesco don't overcharge their customers then they wouldn't have to R&R.
