Well I've done it, I've gone and got a breadmaker. Now this may sound trivial but it is probably the most thought out purchase in my life - no impulse buy, no grab off the shelf to get out (hate shopping), no first price will do fine.

Researched over at the old style boards - pretty much consensus was go for Panasonic SD255.

Amazon is £83.34, the cheapest anywhere with free delivery BUT I googled discount codes (not allowed to quote them here - sorry but GOOGLE works) and got Debenhams codes. So £100 reduced in-store to £90 found 10% off code and free delivery code so paid £81 plus 4% cashback from Quidco plus 1% cashback from AMEX, so about £77 incl delivery. Only £6 difference but I feel chuffed cos I did all the bits necessary. Also got vouchers and codes for 10% off if you spend more than £25 on or before Sunday. These are no use to me gentle hint. AMEX is paid off every month so no interest or anything nasty.

It arrived this morning and is unpacked, flour and yeast bought and mix going on tonight.

The fact I researched something, found a great deal and then unpacked it and bought extra stuff to use it, is unprecedented. Hopefully step forward in waiting to buy only stuff I really want. Or sad sad bread machine woman - you can look at it both ways!

As I've found 8 jars of olives in cupboards...OH in days when he was allowed to do Tesco order  ... olive bread will be getting tested out soon!

My breadmaker never even got as far as being banished to under the kitchen sink. It broke straight out of the box and now I have to pay for two until the carpy one is received back at Debenhams and I get a refund.

Onwards, upwards and even more dough spent:rotfl:

Well Breadmaker Mark II has arrived. Packaged subtlely differently from Mark I so phoned Debenhams to ask if they'd sent me an ex-display or a return  They suggested I make a formal complaint - done.

Mark I is sort of reboxed and awaiting courier, Courier will arrived "at some unspecified time in next 4 days" - so no leaving the house for 96 hours just in case :rotfl:

We now have bread which is good.

Furniture arrived for new office and has been built.

Tomorrow is mass homework day. All 3 of us have work to do so that is the sole focus of Tuesday. Then we can start moving IT and telecoms into office followed by books and files. I am so excited about having a decent working space I could dance a jig - but not til Wednesday.

Early accountant appt as well on Wednesday - 7am - to sign up an English solicitor to act on the Bona Vacantia case. Approx cost £1200 to get our own money back, well should help redecorate some MPs second home

We now have an office - well big yellow room filled to the gunnels with things to hold files. OH and SB are doing the networky stuff Friday and then we can move the 10 tons of paperwork.

I will be very very happy when this is finished.

My PC moved and router. Spent a couple of frustrating hours trying to make a CAT 5 network cable. Fingers bruised, air blue, cable being bought tomoz.

Lets add that to my list of things I'm pants at:

Electricty (it's fairies no other explanation)
French (the shame and still can only manage 10 words)
Sailing (they called me "Bob" cos at least I floated)
    and now
Networking (agh agh and triple agh)

Mr Fresian tells me off for saying that flying is witchcraft. No matter how many times he tells me about the science, there is just no reason for planes to stay in the air. Witchcraft :D

Agreed. Even if they flapped a bit I'd be more convinced.

The US Air Force did a study on the aero-dynamic qualities of bumble bees and they can't actually fly according to their research. So they are therefore running very fast, using bumble bee shaped kites from strategic hiding points, running a mass hypnosis programme or working with the witches - because scientifically they ain't airborne!

You do have to admit bumblebees do look funnily unlikely to fly! Sort of mini stripy furballs with wings! :rotfl:
