lost belkin installation cd

With the belkin tool I have no idea, sorry. I usually turn off the manufacturers utility and use the default Windows one. I'd probably start by rebooting the router and making sure that is working with other devices if you have any. Does your router have an SSID (wireless network name) and a password set up, or did you just leave it on the defaults that it came with from the shop?0

well from what i can gather, although i dowloaded the driver it is not actually installed with the device.
when using wizard and selecting the files i downloaded it can't find the necessary software.:grouphug:

spent another hour or so last night trying to sort this.
any advice i come across now is going way over my head.
in short:
i d/l the correct belkin driver.
when i go to device manager wizard does not recognise it as software whether i let it search for it, or manually select it.:grouphug:

In that case it probably isn't the correct Belkin driver, sorry if I gave you duff advice but it was the best I could find based on the information available via software.
Is it possible you downloaded an XP driver but are using Vista, or vice versa?
Unfortunately I think the best thing to do now would be to take the card out and look at what is written on it, as per Belkin's instructions, and if it still doesn't work, contact Belkin.

It's not a driver.
Did you double click on the f5d7000v8_ww_2.00.09.exe file? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
no worries mate, you told me the same driver as i have been told elsewhere. no i don't have vista (chose to keep xp instead).
what i have found is mention of wizard not recognizing the driver file for some reason, and then it gets into advice on using info which was completely foreign to me.
at this point i'd actually rather pay money to get a usb adaptor and just leave the belkin in there to rot, tho is it as simple as that ?:grouphug:

This is the exe file here it is not a driver so device manager won't recognise it. Save it to a location on your hard drive and then navigate to that location using windows explore and then double click on it. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
okay, i will try this later on when i get home. thanks for the help, fingers crossed !:grouphug:

hi,
right i tried the above and basically the same happened as when i have previously installed it.
the belkin "programme" is installed, but it has no life in it, it just shows
my computer
router
internet
all divided by a "!" sign. theres no option in my connections either.
i really think the problem lies in me creating the connection, as the adaptor card has no life in it either (no lights on the back of the pc).
so this is what the end of a wit looks like !!
any suggestions please ?:grouphug:
