  • I'm still very new to couponing thanks everybody for you help by the way. Yesterday while in Tesco I bought a Fairy Liquid 650ml with a £2.00 off New Fairy Platinum dishwashing tablets on the bottle. It has Tesco's logo on it but was wondering would I have to buy the product or could it be used like other vouchers without buying the product.

When these first came out a couple of months ago you could use them on anything but then they were changed and now you can only use them if you buy the product. :D

Typically, you need to buy the product, if it is a store's own voucher.
Definately is the case with this one, now....although there was a glitch when it first came out.

I don't know if it's the case in todays' supposed double points deal, but whenever you use a clubcard 'double points' coupon, it doesn't actually show you the number of extra points on your receipt (just says "double points coupon"), the extra get added at a later date.
Maybe that's what will happen if the double promotion is going on today- just a guess.

    Hi all, :j

I have been at work all day but got a couple of texts to tell me about the probs with the Sun fiver. TBH I don't blame Morrisons for trying to stop Tesco using this one (if it's a deliberate move, I suspect it is).

Last time Morrisons gave Tesco a lot of extra business with these coupons - and no doubt it costs Morrisons a fortune to have such a promo in the Sun. Methinks the main Supermarkets are playing dirty in their scramble for our business!

Went to my local just now on way home from work, asked at CS desk about the coupon before buying the Sun (thanks to those who texted me!). Local smallish store tested one and said 'no, not if it doesn't scan, sorry'. I knew they would say that as they never let their cashiers input a non-scan under any circs - I didn't argue because I know what I plan to do (see below).

So I just spent a tenner on food & whizzed home to read everyone's experiences on here. I got a couple of Suns anyway and may get a few more. As someone has already said, this is an uphill struggle, not for the faint-hearted!

    My plan is to:

    1. Phone Dundee to add my twopennyworth, can't hurt can it?!

    2. Go & buy a few more Suns at the local Extra and see what they are doing today about this coupon.

    3. Pop in to Madmuppet's 'Openhouse' party for chicken stew and strawberries!

    4. Keep trying today's coupons each day (I reckon T will amend the tills this week to recognise this moc if they can. It must be taking up huuuge amounts of man hours at stores and Dundee with all the queries with this single coupon).

    5. If all else fails, then I will send off my coupons and £30+ receipts to Dundee in a week or so, and ask for reimbursement please.

I suppose it doesn't matter but I don't want Tesco's knowing how I pay for my shopping, so I hand over my clubcard for scanning before I hand over my coupons (or cash:eek:) They do give points for newspapers.
I imagine if your clubcard is connected to a transaction (regardless of when you hand over the clubcard) Mr T will still know how you paid for the shopping.
