Cheers for that - i'll ring tomorrow as well then, pointless doing it now cos I sent mine Monday as well.... I wish i'd sent them last week now haha :eek:

I was told they offer everything at day one, so why would you have to wait 6 months? They pre authorise you for everything at day one, she told me I could apply for a loan once account was sorted and it'd be instantly accepted upto my pre approved limits (c£25k IIRC)....

The first credit check is for ID check and for "prospects" i.e what limits to be offered.

Dont mean to butt in... but with my account/ CC we only got checked by once.. if this helps... and when our housemate applied for FD 4 months ago he got checked intially he just has an account with them and they never did any additional checks

Some may be pre-approved from the start, but when I opened my account with them, I requested their credit card at the same time but was told that they could not give me one at that time, but waited 6 months and called to see if I qualified for one and that is when I was told that they were able to give me the Gold Card with minimum limit of £3000. The reason that am saying to wait 6 months, is that from day one they may give you the classic card or Gold card, you just don't know, then if you get the Gold card, great for higher limit, lower interest but if they give you the classic card then you cannot apply for the Gold unless you close first the classic and re-apply. First direct won't allow to have 2 credit cards from them. Hope I make sense

Good luck...but I think you'll get same kind of answer as Innocent...not enough for them to process as all their applications are done manually..
