Great, that's all we need - another violent idiot in the world.
Do you always resort to threats of violence when people's views differ from yours? Were you a bully at school? Do you hit your wife if she says something you don't like. Get a life!

Well we can all see you're definitely the sharpest knife in the drawer. No doubt there.

Just listen to yourself. "why should it bother you in the slightest if she is pregnant"....... it should bother you because first she is pregnant and it's very heavy to carry a baby and trains rock around and she could fall and miscarry and possibly break her pelvis or something else and secondly because she is a human. but obviously you're not. you're just a loud talking, ignorant moron with a disgusting attitude towards people. FACT.

"World population is projected to rise from today's 6.8 billion to 9.1 billion in 2050. The World Population Clock is ticking. We are rapidly destabilising our climate and destroying the natural world on which we depend for future life."

"In the UK, population is officially projected to rise from 60.6 million (mid-2006) to 77 million in 2050 - that's more than another two Londons"

Give up my train seat? You're having a laugh!

Why should being pregnant suddenly grant you special status? Getting pregnant in today's day & age is hugely irresponsible, and is contributing to the death of the planet. END OF STORY

So count yourself as one of the problems then and do us all a favour and instead of sitting on a seat on a train-sit on the tracks and wait. You complete !!!!!! idiot. :rotfl:

    jimxc28... I think you've been had, mate ;)

Just goes to show how easy it is to wind people up & get them to reveal their true colours.

    Who's the idiot, now?

    :p

    Simple. You are.
This thread is about the population's attitude towards other passengers who may be at a disadvantage.
In no way is it a debate on the rising population of the planet, its causes, problems and future solutions. Even if you realise that, there's still no chance you could contribute to it intelligently. Just not the case with you it seems.

True colours? Well we all know now what kind of person you are. Thanks for revealing them. :rotfl:

What a shame that your two children will grow up thinking that it is nice and polite to make loud remarks about strangers and assumptions about them based purely on their gender and appearance.
Perhaps one of your nice, fit, well brought up children would have already offered their seat so that Mummy wouldn't have to?
Or you could have your non paying 3 year old on your lap to free a space for her?
Personally, I'd just tell her to go and sit in first class, where she will be comfortable and won't have to put up with being made a spectacle of by predjudiced people with an axe to grind.

Beacause it would be SO much better for me to sit in silence and watch the pregnant woman suffer, thus teaching my children that they should turn a blind eye to other peoples needs!

If my comments make other people in the carriage feel uncomfortable then GOOD!

If my comments are not relevant to all people in the carriage (those with disabilities / elderly etc) then they know who they are and will know that they have a good reason not to offer their seat!

Yes, I probably would get one of my children to sit on my knee (obvious solution!), but it doesn't make the inconsiderate behaviour of the other people in the carriage any less worthy of comment!
  • absolutely - having been 'up the duff' myself more than once & forced to stand on crowded busses etc while the other travellers avoided my eye & let me suffer so as to avoid giving up their seats, i woudn't dream of letting a pregnant woman stand.
not everyone can pay in advance so before judging perhaps some people should consider that they might not know the circumstances of her journey.

is it that money is so important, laziness or just a horrible personality that makes people think it would be ok to treat someone like that?

heaven forbid that those who are horrified by the idea never get pregnant, have pregnant wives etc, age or suffer disabilitiy just in case they come up against such small-minded unkindness!

(not to mention the fact that they might be judged to be spongers rather than getting something back from their taxes! again lets hope you never have children if that's your view!!!)
  • If I was heavily pregnant I would have ensured that I booked a seat before committing to travel. Having arthritis this is second nature to me. You should never rely on people's kindness. The fairest way might be to give her the opportunity to compensate you with that £50 if she wishes to sit down.

Dilemma? What dilemma? Of course you offer the seat to somebody who needs it more than you do!

I've never bothered to post here before, but reading some of the responses really sickened me to see what a bunch of self-interested, mean-spirited losers inhabit this forum. You should all hang your heads in shame and hope that when you are ill, frail or vulnerable you don't encounter the same stultifying ignorance as you yourselves exhibit. What pathetic apologies for human beings you are.
