LOL I grew up with Tupperware, then started buying it and then became a demonstrator and got loads free...........it's virtually coming out my ears here! icon12.gif Can't do without the microwave range!

    Looks like they are independant consultants now and not demonstrators;

I've got 3 microwave dishes, which I've had for about 8 or 10 years, I love them, and never use anything else unless its a plate to reheat a dinner. Might have been expensive at the time, but they've more than paid for themselves 100 times over.

I find loads of these at car boots so it might be worth looking carefully whenever you go to one, I often find them in the boxes shoved under the stall marked everything 10p :D

Forgot, another thing I use a lot is the rice cooker (old style square orange bottom with cream lid, and colonder insideDD1 lives on rice, so she uses it a lot, I always cook my rice it it, never fails. When we have friend round, I take it to the table, and keep the lid on, so people can dip in for seconds and rice stays warm.

I got one of these from a charity shop last year but can t find out how to use it, any help would be appreciated as it is sitting in the bottom of the cupboard just taking up space.

I used to be a Tupperware Dealer. I loved selling it. I have loads that I use daily, especially the microwave dishes. When I was selling it, it had a lifetime guarantee, (I'm not sure if it still has) But the cheap versions don't work as well!

Millie, This is what it says in "The Tupperware Cookbook" !
    Cooking Rice in the Multi-Server

    1. Fill the outer bowl of the Multi-Server with 1 litre water. Place the water in a pan and bring to the boil. Add a pinch of salt nd 250ml cup white rice and stir. Bring back to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
Turn the rice and boiling water into the Multi-Server colander in the bowl.

    2. Cover and leave undisturbed for 20 minutes.

    3. Lift the colander to drain the rice and pour away the starch-filled water.
    4. Add 450ml hot water to the bowl, replace the colander of rice to keep hot for serving.

If using Brown rice, Boil for 6 minutes, leave in the Multi-Server for 30 Minutes.

    Hope this helps!

My mum swears by Tupperware. The majority of the stuff she's got has lasted since when she got married to my dad.................33 years ago! And they're still going strong.

I have the Lock & Lock from Lakeland, which are good, but I can't help but think that a raid of my mum's cupboard wouldn't go amiss. :D

  • Tupperware is great!! I have bought many bits of Tupperware from Bootsales for pennies and have just sterilised them when Ive got home. I sold a few bits on Ebay last year and got quite alot for them, but upon checking today, they are selling quite cheapily-so could be worth looking on there:confused:

I think you mean the Tupperware Multi-Server. I too have one of these, I put dry pasta in it, pour on boiling water to cover, put lid on and leave it for about 20 minutes. Pasta is cooked to perfection, and just lift out the colander part to drain the pasta, pour drained pasta back in main container and add tuna, sweetcorn, cucumber cubes and a big dollop of mayonnaise and hey presto! pasta salad with minimal washing up.

It is also great for poaching fish.

This always comes with us on camping holidays, as it doesn't hog a burner on the camping stove and food keeps warm for longer if put inside it with a drop of hot water in the base.
    keep smiling,
