This is nothing to do with what is fair and what is not, businesses generally are not fair, they are there to make a profit not to win a best friend award....

is it really only me that can see the contradiction in posts like this? you use the "business is not fair so don't complain about ebay" argument but the business who sticks a couple of quid on the sale price for postage after the sale, and after stating that he would in the listing is condemned.

Could we not use your argument to defend this seller by saying "business is not fair so don't complain about a seller trying to get around an ebay rule to make a buck, that's business and he told he would do it in his listing".........oh i just did ;)

Thats the key phrase - the seller stuck on a couple of quid 'after the sale'.

Soolin, what way do you best report these? I'm struggling with the categorisation?

There are several that sort of fit, I tend to use the following as anything that stops ebay getting their fees tends to get their attention quickly:

    circumvention of ebay fees>
Other attempts to circumvent ebay fees>

If you get into the swing I sometimes find it easier to have two screens open, one to grab the listing numbers and one in which to mass report auctions rather than do them individually.

Some people have the option to report multiple items in one hit, and their reports take priority over everyone elses....

Buyer buys item that has 'Postage and Packing = FREE' in the postage category.

Seller then invoices buyer for new amount with postage and directs buyer to small print in confusing listing.

I don't see any evidence that the listing was confusing or misleading.
But when you bid on an item you are agreeing to be bound by the terms in the listing and that you have read and understood them.

if a listing is confusing anyone with half a brain would seek clarification before committing to buy, and surely the OP deserves some of the "you're obviously stupid and know nothing about ebay" abuse throwing at them that i have had thrown at me then?

Shall we all have a pop at her now? who wants to start?

Also in the instance (which you changed to suit your P.O.V) that it was all a mix up and the buyer "misunderstood" the listing would advising the OP to ask for a mutual transaction withdrawal not be more suitable advise than "milk him for what you can get".

Again there is a fine line between responsible advise and irresponsible advice which will/could amount to promoting a scam.
