Disgusted with Asda Customer Services

I had a similar thing happen in M&S, only mine was down to the cashier not knowing how to use a gift card and locking it mistakenly. I couldn't take my shopping and the store couldn't find how to re-activate the card. Apparently this couldn't be done at shop floor (
) therefore had to wait till following day.
HOWEVER - they were full of apologies ( yes, M&S) and the manager asked me to pick out those items I needed for tea and gave them foc!
So, shame on Asda.0 -
Similar thing happened to me, see my Home Delivery thread, i'm sorry it's happened to you also, OP0

most asda cash offices are not manned after a certain time, anything as early as mid afternoon in some cases and till shorts are not accounted for until the following dayLeeSouthEast wrote: »The sad thing is if the store had actually been bothered to, a quick query on the back office system would show the transaction as having been authorised, thus proving the transfer of cash and the payment for the goods. .things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then

Wow- I hear such "happy customers" from Asda, I'm glad I'm not alone in having serious issues with their customer service!
I got arrested (then released no charge) about 4 years ago for apparently acting as an accomplice to a shoplifter. I had never seen the women they accused me of working with in my life, the security guard told me "I'll be dumping you in a secure room with a druggie, if she's got needles, thats not really my concern" they then said to the police I was acting as a decoy as I was shopping and kept dropping things (not intentionally- I was very anorexic and so very underweight and after an 8 hour shift at work had not eaten for a long time, low blood-glucose=uncoordinated).
It was only on overhearing what I think the security guard thought I could not hear through a closed door: I think he was talking to a colleague, laughing saying he would be getting "£100 in the bank Monday". I assume the numbers of arrested people get them cash. (In fact I am fairly certain of this as my job at the time was as a sales assistant in different retail store and we were told £50 if we caught someone and had the police called out to deal with them).
I wish that back then I had the courage to stand up for myself! I just wanted the whole thing to go away and didn't press charges, didn't tell anyone, not even my mum. I was so ashamed I had to go through the whole thing, even though I didn't do anything, Asda had no "evidence" other then me dropping things accidentally and the police took no action other then to call out the police psychiatrist as I was hyperventilating and couldn't stop shaking.
For that reason I will never shop in Asda again!0 -
I had a similar problem in Boots.I entered the shop, asked an assistant where to find the travel bottles, found them and while looking at them a security guard appeared next to me and told me I was being watched as I was a known shoplifter(I"m not,if you were wondering).I asked why he thought that.He said he had been told by another security guard.I asked to speak to them.Apparently they were not there!.The security guard was clearly new,a bit stupid and not cut out for the job.I continued to querey why I was being confronted and due to the noise the store manager appeared and asked me to go with them as I was causing a disturbance on the shopfloor.I refused, telling them if the did not want disturbaces in the shop, not to harass their customers. To avoid further disturbance the manager left me alone telling the security guards to do the same, allthough I was clearly watched from a distance. On leaving the store I had to walk past the security guard,he said something again refering I was was not innocent.I then made him follow me and found the assistant I had spoken to on entering the store to confirm what I was doing there. At home I contacted the store to complain.Boots apologised but denied resposibility saying they do not employ the security guards and directed me to the security company that provides them. The security company bizzarly cited data protection law and hid behind it.I gave up.Lifes to short. But I now never shop in Boots. They should take full responsibility for people working in their stores.
I think store security can only stop you leaving the store, nothing else. You dont have to go anywhere with them. They cannot touch or search you unless you agree. Please correct me if this is wrong0 -
It's appalling. I'm lost for words. Sympathy to Jennie & Norman.0

I don't shop there anymore either for similar reasons.0

IMHO this supermarket totally sucks
There's cheap... and then there's ASDA.
Still plenty of bargains to be had at the likes of Tesco and JS0
