The post wasnt entitled "problem of the decade" It was about an individuals problems with a store and that individual was left with NO money and no shopping, that was a problem for the OP.0 -
Not for you it obviously isn't but come back to me the day you have no cash in your pocket, no money in your bank, and the little money you had on your prepaid debit card is tied up for 2-3 days because a huge company failed to close down defective tills, and you had no tea bags, no butter, no milk, no treats, and no way of sorting anything out!arrowsmith wrote: »I agree with dmg24, sorry for all of you that don't but this is hardly problem of the decade.
Have a nice day and may it rain on your life at some point so that you can finally see the other person's point of view!0 -

The OP said it was a 'whoopsie' cake, only 30p! surely we're all allowed a little indulgence, skint or no!0 -
If the Op wanted to buy a silver platter, who are you to judge, its not about how much money was spent nor on what the items were, suggest you read the thread again, the items purchased are completely irrelevant to the issue.
I too would never shop at a store that offers that kind of service, and neither would anyone else who suffered the same issue as the Op.
Overreaction? I think not, missing out on 1 or 2 customers is no big thing for such a supermarket its true, 10 or 20 then 100 or 200 might prove to be a little more of a problem, if Asda choose to do likewise with that many customers, I'm sure alarm bells would be ringing, alas its said that 1 or 2 customers don't matter, its merely an "overreaction" which is outrageous, I could be customer no2 or I could be customer no200, theres a HUGE difference when it comes to treating ALL customers the same way.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Marleyboy, thanks for your suggestion. I did read the thread again. Didn't make any difference tho - still wanted to put my point across. Many thanks. Appreciated. x0

Clarify - my cake was a victorian cream and jam sponge reduced from £1 to 30p. Boy was I looking forward to getting home with that, a nice cup of tea, feet up, and a slice of cream cake. AND I would have made that cake do 4 nice slices - less than 10p a slice - bargain!!!!;) Everyone who is suffering financial and in straitened circumstances will know just how I felt at having such a "little" treat denied to me because Asda just could not see beyond their profit margin, and allow some grace into the situation. BTW my prepaid debit card still shows the transaction and there remains with only £3.33 on it instead of £17.76

katiecoodle - I wish I had £300 to spend a month on groceries - I don't even have that income in a month to cover all my outgoings! I wish I could even have £30 a week for groceries. Why should I not treat myself with a 30p cake once in a while, if I have a little money available?0
