Disgusted with Asda Customer Services

  • Firstly I have had awful experiences with ASDA home delivery, I have kept giving them another chance as, well they are the cheapest. But after another debacle last night resulting in 16 failed attempts to get through to customer service, I have finally cracked, and now no one I know will be using them again. And dream on about getting any kind of monetary apology!

Secondly- Trolls. There are a lot on here and they are VERY obvious! Trolls are people who work for a company who come on to defend them, pretending to be a very happy customer, and imply that your bad experience is due to being a bad customer. Remember people, these TROLLS are not to be considered real people, do NOT believe them, they are easy to spot! Do not enter into a debate with them as they see it as an opportunity to get their point across (and some dumber people will see the trolls points as valid, we can not have that!). Just pop TROLL in comments below to make sure everyone else knows.

Right, I am off to demand satisfaction from ASDA and then gym to get out the anger that ASDA have caused me!

Good luck and good shopping for all!

Have to say I have not seen ANY trolling in this "old" thread that you have dug up. Moreso Trolls are not limited to supermarkets nor people that work for companies, the type of people who proclaim to be happy customers for their own companies are known as "PLANTS", "TROLLS" on the other hand are people who go around threads with the sole intention of disrupting them, or maliciously trying to pick fights or arguments for no other reason than their own pleasure.

I haven't shopped in Asda for years. Not because I have had card problems, nor have I been falsely accused of shoplifting
But to be honest, although I have money problems, I'm not so skint that I have to shop there, I would rather eat less! The queues are always horrendous, the food is rubbish and the service is often dreadful. I've had to ask for bags many times, the till operators chat amongst themselves and barely glance at the customer and once, I was even served by a till operator who was wearing MP3 headphones! Both of my local branches are just dreadful, everyone I know avoids them. Yet they are always packed to the rafters, goodness knows why. They are the worst supermarket by far, I can't understand how they are so successful.

There is this weird mindset these days that being really positive about something is just as bad as being negative. It happens more in fan fora (ie where people talk about films and TV shows). But people do treat it as antagonistic when someone chips in with a little balance. People who affably say "Hey, hang on old bean, that's not my experience" are treated as if they are being aggressive rather than affable simply for seeing something differently to someone who feels p'd off.

I will have to admit to never having used Asda internet shopping.

I used Asda online once, and that was a harsh lesson learned, never again ;)

In December 2011 I found a long, coarse piece of thread in one of ASDA's Extra Special hand finished White Chocolate and Raspberry tortes: looked like it had come form a chef's coat or apron It was a very upsetting and unpleasant experience and I sent the material, along with the product description to their "Refund & Replace " address. Heard nothing., so contacted them by email in January2012. Had a resonse asking for my details, which I provided but heard nothing further. I then wrote again to their Customer Services address in Leeds. Again, heard nothing, so emailed yet again. Response received by email four days later asking for postal details, then a telephone message asking me to telephone to discuss the matter. Called the number to discover it was the general contact number...usual choice of numbers to press and interminable music and delay but couldn't speak to the person who'd emailed me. Once I'd explained the issue yet again, I was told that there was no record of any of the 4 complaints and that there was nothing they could do without the evidence of the foreign object.

Can't believe that they won't investigate the matter or the execrable customer service. Anyone else heard of similar experience with ASDA desserts and/or customer service?

Found this thread through Googling after my negative experience with my local Asda today.
Their fault, their systems down - end result, payment for goods in cash AND payment X 2 taken from my bank account as well! (Or, hopefully, both amounts being 'held' and I'll get them back soon).
I'm not made of money and have had to do some serious juggling to ensure that my direct debits will be paid despite ^.
All topped off with some seriously BAD 'customer service' instore (what's new?) on phoning in for help about the bank stuff.
Added to this, as so many of their till staff are more occupied with reading the customers' newspaper front pages/picking their noses or ears or teeth/being sullen and silent/licking their fingers to give out bags, I'm going to give the nearby Aldi a go for my main shop from now on.
Asda, you have no idea of the meaning of 'customer service'.
