god awful retsina (but it improves in flavour the more you drink I find);)

why not make Greek hampers to leave behind...a way of bringing you closer together IYSWIM...

Yes Valli, have to agree about the Retsina it is awful and I haven't persevered with it I must say! However the Raki can be equally awful although the Greeks love it. They reckon it's a cure all especially for upset tummy - I think it's more likely it gives me an upset tummy!! but that may be more to drinking to much of the stuff in one go!!

I already have a couple of family members who give me an "order" every time we go for herbs and the like! certainly planning at least two Greek themed hampers.

Went into Boots yesterday to buy a wee birthday gift for my friend, got a promotional offer on Sanctuary-a new one apparently according to the girl demonstrating-if I bought the body butter and another item she would give me a coupon for £5.49 which I could use straight away at the till, so I picked up a bath scrub and a shower gel, total £18.44, using the voucher got the three for £12.95.

I was in a hurry as OH was parked outside on a yellow line and I was under strict instructions to be quick so wasn't really paying too much attention to what the girl was saying but I think the offer is only until 1st June (couldn't find it on the Boots website) however am off to Boots again in a minute to buy the same and use my Advantage points of £11.54 which means I have a nice gift for someone for just over £1.....feeling rather pleased with self!

forgot Raki - never had it but it's featured in a song by Deacon Blue...sipping down raki and reading Maynard Keynes (I think)

In fact give someone the book, the drink and the song for a fun themed hamper?

    BTW the song is Dignity...

Hello everyone, I have a few days to catch up on!

Mum2one - 23 presents for £3.18, that is so impressive! I challenge anyone to beat that, that's amazing!

ellemm - Wow, am loving your Boots Santuary bargains! It must be so satisfying paying a pound for all of that! Their Santuary range is expensive so your recipients will think you've spent a fortune, well done!

For everyone thinking of doing the whisk you a merry Christmas idea, I saw Christmassy coloured red spoked whisks in Morrisons the other day. They didn't have prices on them so I'm afraid I don't know how much they are, although they were their own brand so I doubt they'll be much. I can't find it on their website although I have found a picture of a similar one, except the handle of the Morrisons one is black.

Lucy - thanks for that. They'd be brilliant. Shame its not on the website...our nearest Morrisons -like most stores - is 20 miles away,,,,,,,maybe theyll be on the website eventually and can't imagine them being that expensive.

Got two super bottle shaped candles from charity shop this morning-quite tall and only 50p the pair !:j Not much else though so tomorrow I'm off to a boot fair -see if I can get some cheap notebooks to cover and anything else really says 'buy me !':rotfl:

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

You're welcome Mary, I saw them and thought they'd be great. I didn't buy one as I wasn't sure who I'd give it to but I've since thought of someone so I'll definitely get at least one!

You can find all sorts of gems at boot sales can't you? Good luck and let us know what finds you bring home.

    Evening Ladies

I have ordered a memorial plaque with Rufus's photo on for our garden from Ebay so hoping it will be nice.

Went up the town earlier to my fav charity shop and found a nice perfume and body spray set, cant remember the make but it was red and will go nicely in the red themed hamper I am doing. I think I just about have enough for that now so another one to cross off my list.

I have now knitted all 4 hats with ear muffs for my nieces and knitted normal knitted pull on hats for my son and the 3 grandsons. Have another girly one to do for grandaughter then that will be them done too.

I ordered another 2 dvds (paid for with Amazon vouchers from Bingoports) for OH's 30 presents which leaves me with 2 left to get, might just get a couple of bars of galaxy and that will be that.

Well OH has gone to work for the night so I think I will go up and sort out my presents box as its getting a bit full.

Thanks again for all the good wishes xx

Thanks Lucy, trouble is I went back to get another lot and the promotional girl had left for the day:mad: but they said she would be back tomorrow so yet another trip but I think it's worth it, as you say the range is lovely.
