- Hi pink lady and everyone can I join please?:o Am mad about Christmas and am reasonably organized but not as good as yourself! My nick name is Elle, only my mates call me that, so feel free to call me by this name. Question do u think it's unlucky to keep my decorations up all year round as I spend days getting it just so....Then I take them down again only to put them up again the same the next year ? Any Ideas

MARATHON REPLY!!
On your marks.. get set.. GO!!
alliboy03 Hello Elle and welcome to the place for Christmas nutters! :xmastree: My mum insists it is bad luck to keep your decorations up past 06 Jan and even though I am in no way superstitious (I decide my own fate thankoo) I still take them down on this day every single year. I try to wait until I put them up but usually I will get as far as my wedding anniversary (October 31st) and will just stick them all up. :rotfl:There are literally boxes upon boxes of decorations and it takes a full day for me to decorate but once Christmas is over and you take them back down.. the house feels so much more empty.. so much bigger and cleaner! It's a great way to start the new year. Congratulations on becoming debt free, that must feel fantastic. It's going to be a brilliant Christmas for you this year :T
Shevs Oh you made me really laugh then.. I know I shouldn't but it was just So funny! I would act a bit sad when I got home until he asked me what was wrong and then after annoying him saying 'oh nothing' for a good week i'd then 'fess that I was sad he didn't want to marry me. Got to get the guilt trip going for the wedding plans.. right? SO glad you are back safe and had a lovely time.. PICS!!
Phunkles You make me laugh every single time you post.. you are just sooo funny. I want some festive socks now.. :snow_grinI am going to put some on my list along with my ridiculous Christmas cardigan.. the more sequins the better. Sowwy you got sucky eczema patches.. but I like your thinking re:the seasons. It's so bad counting your life away waiting for Christmas isn't it :xmassign:
remrats Aww i'm sorry you need a bit of fun in your life, hope it is nothing that our christmas magic can't cure. :santa2: It is never too late to join in, details of our latest Rudolph day and challenges are in the second post of the forum.. jump in and most of all.. enjoy :T
Anglea I know it's really naughty but I had to laugh at your toilet roll fiasco:rotfl:Not sure what this idea of Marys is so I will have to go check it out! I hope you successfully finalise it soonAs for Rudolph day EVERY week.. I would have it every day but I think my fingers would wear away
:snow_laug
Orchid-96 I said to everybody that this thread can sometimes feel overwhelming so don't try to keep up unless you are like me and just have to LOL Just make sure you post on Rudolph day and join in the festivities because you are in the nutter club and it wouldn't be right without you now! :T:xmassmile
Janeym8 Hope it is nothing serious and you feel much better soon x There is plenty of time left until next :rudolf:Rudolph day so don't worry too much xx Halfway to Christmas is so SUPER exciting!!
Paddy :snow_grinKeep them bags coming.. come on you was doing so well. Have you thought about buying some irridescent beads (They do giant bags of them cheap) and threading them onto the wool as you knit so you have sparkly beads on the front of your bags? I'm going crazy now aren't I
OK.. I have got to where I last posted nowif you posted before that then HELLO!! I am not ignoring you and I welcome you with a huge hug and a cup of hot chocolate.. Marshmallows or cream? :T

Hello all -you busy lot:rotfl:
I've made a snow person this morning :j
Empty narrow maltezer tube now covered in white felt, bit of red ribbon wrapped diagnally round it, goggle eyes, black felt nose and I've drawn a smiley mouth on it. Just need to concoct some sort of hat now............lol
Then at christmas.......fill it with white maltezers :j
Afraid that''s been my festive bit for today.Mary

I'm exhausted! Just read this from beginning to end.......... and have stolen lots of the ideas, thank you. In return here's a couple for you
Find It – Get a large jar with good screw lid on it (ex-family Branston works well), and in it put a dried bean and rice mix. Then place in it a series of objects – such as a toy soldier, two buttons, a piece of ribbon, a penny, a feather, a paperclip, a thread of cotton (3 inches), three different coloured stars, etc etc. The rice/bean mix should nearly fill the jar but still allow for movement. Shake the jar well, and then give the jar, plus a beautifully printed list of all the things hidden in it as your Find It present. It works best if there are lots of very small things, and you can adapt it according to the recipient. Basically they have to shake and shake the jar till the item they are searching for comes to the surface and then they get to tick it off the list. It can be refreshed only once all items have been found.
The great present swap game. We use this for Christmas adults, especially when getting together with extended family (new partners, etc) and great for office parties too. Everyone brings a wrapped present, worth £5, this can be something good, odd, great or weird. Then each person draws a number from a hat to establish pecking order. Number 1 goes first, picks a present and unwraps it. Number 2 goes next. They can either steal the first (now opened) present, or they can choose and unwrap another present. If a present is stolen from you you get to steal or choose again. But you cannot steal what was stolen from you. Game continues until everyone has a present. This works less well with children who want to hang on for dear life to their present!

Hello :hello:
Had my results yesterday, they came back normal but i'm still in pain so at docs again today to talk to a new doctor about it all then hopefully this whole fiasco will be sorted. So now i'm dosed up on paracetemol and ibruprofen:rolleyes:
Ordered from halfcost again on tuesday as they have 3 pairs of (Next) black socks for £1.99 (ordered 3 packs), and i've finally finished OH mum's birthday present (gardening hamper) will take a pic when it's all sorted. Also ordered OH's niece's Christmas present - High School Musical Spin the Microphone £3.99.
Have a job interview at Faith in Debenhams next week (my friend said she has secured me a job there):j i have completely lost trust in my boss as i was told that for doing a carer's shift even if shadowing i should be earning £4.50 an hour, but i didn't get paid for it so i went to ask about it and she is denying she even said it. :mad:So off i trot, she's not getting her full notice quota as i'm feeling so let down by her.
Will write later
..xxI am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A0 -

Mary; you will just have to buy more maltesers.....and seeing as it is too hot where you live you can send them to me as it is just perfect temperature for chocolate.......cool and dull. I will send you the empty carton back ASAP !0
-
mhagster - might be cool and dull here tomorrow..............lol and too hot for maltezers ? Never............melt in the mouth so a whole tube can vanish before the sun decides whether its gonna shine or not.
They weren't my maltezers - can't remember who had them........anyway, they gave me the empty tube (how kind not to even leave me one !!)
I have got an empty twiglets tube, gravy granule tub and several small plastic tubs..............umm..........now there's a strange family of snowfolk................lol:rotfl:
(Sorry I can't oblige with the choccy:o)Mary
