Hello everyone, I would like to join this thread please.
I'm pretty well organised for Christmas and family. :xmastree:For our children we have a set budget and now that they're older, they know, but we do throw in a few suprises too. Our daughter will be 18 this Christmas so I expect she will want money but our son is 11 and it's getting harder to buy for him.
I'm looking for Fathers Day ideas please, that aren't too expensive. He is trying to give up smoking at the moment so is grumpy and hard to please. I'm not very good at crafting or baking.***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0 -
Hi
I would love to join this too if its not too late, I used to be very organised and still try to be but work is so manic the last couple of years I have found myself still having to do present shopping in December, not good I hate the crowds!
I have made a start and bought 4 big recycling bags full of her old toys, barbie doors, 2 shoe boxes full of clothes, barbie and Sindy cars and whole host of other things which I plan to give to my friends kids for xmas and birthdays next year and today I bought a dolls high chair and cot for £3 in a charity shop which again can go to friends skids but I by for a lot of kids and really need to get organised so i'm not in the same position at the end of this year.
This thread should help me focus my mind.

welcome Liz and Karen......do join in with the madness and mayhem that is being organised for Christmas on a really hot sunny day. I was talking to customers at work and they were so impressed with my Christmas shopping done and dusted!!0

Afternoon all
Have been very organised despite the lovely weather tempting me to ignore everything!!
Have sorted out my rather large present stash and made a complete list of everything that I have, and I am going to spend the evening (with a glass of wine in hand of course) deciding who is getting what. I also found a load of stuff that I'm putting on to ebay and a bag of stuff ready to sell at a boot fair.
Not long to go now.......!!!!!:j Bought all my presents for this year (birthday and Christmas) now starting on next years!!:j0 -
WOW smilelols, you are really very organised, planning 2010 xmas already, can't think beyond this year.***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0

Well done Mary, you came home with some great bits!
Your cobweb chasers are going to look fab and purple is the 'in colour' at the moment.
Are you doing the pint of socks? You could vary it and do a pint of flannels.
I love Winnie the Pooh.
Oooh good find with the retro sweet man, your snowballs are going to be fantastic!
I spent today with my other half shopping, we are going camping soon and needed to get suitable footware etc. Whilst we were out, we ate in Pizza Hut. I know this isn't the place to post it and I hope you don't mind me doing so seeing as I'm amoung friends, but I thought you might like to know that Pizza Hut has an offer on of kids eating free. All the staff were dressed up in fancy dress, they looked great.
Hello to the newbies, everyone here is lovely and we always do our best to help each other out with anything we can.

Lucy - was thinking more along the lines of using the flannels to create a sort of cappacino look in a mug. Last year I did similar with a cream bath scrunchie thing and popped a cappacino sachet and some choccy sprinkles in as well just in case they didn't cotton on what it was..........lol
Think I did do one with flannels and it looked ok. Just got to remember who had it so I don't given them the same thing again............lol
(frantically consults list !!!!!!)
The more I think about the ';retro sweet man' the more I'm thinking that small jars filled with different sweets in layers would make a nice extra pressie.
Just need some poles for my cobweb chasers now - not sure whether I ought to paint them in silver and do a silver and purple ribbon round them.........oh maybe not..........the gloves are purple with white spots so white would be better with white/purple ribbon...........oh I can't wait - just need OH to cut me some bits of broom handle.(or similar)
I'm more organized about christmas than I am about our holidays - booked a few nights away at Travelodge in Worthing where my son lives........my printer packed up so I put the e mail receipts on my memory stick and the computer shop printed them out..........I know I put the together with the brochure I'd had.............can I find it ? Can I heck as like:eek:
Only way they'll turn up is if I have them printed off again................lol
I was so mad with myself :mad:Mary

Hello everyone
It does seem strange to be talking Christmas at the moment, I really dislike hot weather and will be doing an Autumn countdown.
I just finished my cross stitch birthday card and hope to stick it to the card tomorrow, turned out really nice - but my goodness - ever so fiddly! One of those 'never again' designs.
Had a brilliant charity shop buy - a massive (and very heavy) craft book called Practical Craft Projects. I feel in seventh heaven looking through it as it's all gift ideas including food.
mghagster - what did you mean by this -"tip tapping at web book"? - I couldn't work that out.
mum2one - hope things are better at home for you
orchid - fancy dress - lots of black wool to make a rastafarian look for reggae singers - or plaits (or whatever it was) for Boy George! I made a few wigs from black wool long ago and they came out really well (Dennis the Menace style)
As a family - what about The Bay City Rollers (showing my age LOL) tartan scarves etc0
