Ooooh Mary a cappacino mug sounds even better, I like that more.
I like the sweet jar idea too, I'm going to do that with some of my jars I think. I have them all over the place!
I am so excited about your cobweb chasers, they are going to look so great!
Oooh no - that's the kind of thing I'd do, be all organised and then forget what I'd done with it. I am trying to be organised and planning ahead for our trip; I've gone through the bits we bought today, have put them in bags and clothes on hangers and will keep it all together in one place. I've started a list in categories of all the things we need to take.0 -
Lucy -you sound so organised................there was me yesterday frantically searching for a particular summer skirt..........then the lightbulb moment came -had a serious de-clutter and chucked it out last year -well it went to the charity shop not exactly 'chucked'. Then I remember all the other tops and skirts, dungaree type dresses.............all gone
Mind you I've got tons more space now and get summer and winter all in the same wardrobe.............never been known before :rotfl:
Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Hello all you newcomers
It is never too late to join in the madness here.. We like to call it 'getting organised for christmas' but sometimes it feels more like a secret society for christmas nutters who need to shout 'MERRY CHRISTMAS' every now and then!! Please check out post 2 to find out what we are all about and the link to our latest Rudolph day
Mary, I did see about your cobweb chasers (A year down the line lol) You best learn to upload photographs for these.. it's been long awaited.. I'll roll out the red carpet
For the dad who is quitting smoking, how about a sweet hamper? Fill it with all his favourite sweets, any from the olden days he loves? There are some fabulous ideas on the hamper thread. I should think munching on sweets will alleviate the cravings a little.
Rockstar Fancy Dress Ok for this, I was wondering how about KISS? You could get some black and white make up and you would be away.. a bit of backcombing in the hair or some wigs from PoundlandThe outfits would be pretty easy to emulate too..

Sometimes it does seem a little crazy thinking about Christmas but then I remind myself that it is already June and it just pushes me to sort out my cupboards and get the special occasions organised so I can focus and enjoy the big day when it comes.
I guess the truth is, I am not exclusively organising for Christmas, I am organising towards making my life and my family as happy as possible. Clearing junk, keeping my stresses on paper and being organised is definitely going to make Christmas the best one ever this year but it is also making my life much easier to live and my head clearer. It feels great
Oh and did I mention the positivity? WOW everytime I come on here everyone is so supportive and buzzing with ideas. Your contributions are amazing and it's like reading the best Christmas mag every night without the 4 pounds price tag:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Mary: what is a cobweb chaser? of course I never have cobwebs in my house.......!
Anglea: i use a small web book (like a mini laptop) rather than the BIG computer which now lives in grumpy son's room...checked e-mails on it today.833.....only 5 were not junk!! and I was just tip tapping with my fingers on the keyboard while out in the sun!! because the screen is so small I have to keep scrolling down to read your posts!

Morning Ladies
Got the sewing machine out yesterday and made 3 patchwork bags for Christmas presents, some of the material was just scraps I had collected over the years and some was from the samples I had sent to me via links someone put either on here or on the Crafting for Xmas thread. Bought some nice lining material in the Dunelm Mill sale for £1.49 a metre (well worth a look in there for the next week while sale is on). Was well into the 4th bag when the sewing machine went wrong, kept making a clanking sound and the cotton underneath was coming out in masses. Got fed up with it and put it away until I'm in a better mood to have a look and see what it might be.
Have a nice day everyone
