    Hi all,

just to let you know that I found 3 websites (2 of them I mentioned earlier) that supply nice samples very quickly.

This one - small samples but still good:

    http://www.curtainscurtainscurtains.co.uk/free-samples.html

And these two - large and neat samples (I am so delighted with them):

    http://www.malabar.co.uk/samples/samplerequest.php

    http://www.plumbscurtainshop.co.uk/free-samples/index.html

My John Lewis order didn't work, so I found a perfectly good solution to the problem. :-)

Fantastic, Xmas films in May, I love it :D

Sorry I'm not posting on here :o, having huge difficulty keeping up with the thread so pop in now and again to see what you've been up to.

Love to everyone, haven't forgotten you, just not enough hours in the day at the moment

Are you wanting to make something in particular? I often have blocks where I have no clue what to do with what I'm looking at. This morning has been different. Been up since 6am with DS2 and have made 5 cards :D

I was just very naughty and spent 25 pounds on halfcost.

Still, I have the 25 to spend, and the stuff I bought is mostly gift stuff and if it doesn't go for Christmas it'll keep. The next time I'm at my mother's house I'll gather all the stuff together and make a hardcore inventory!

Thanks for the links. I got some free samples from John Lewis yesterday, think they would be great for making make up bags or pencil cases or even for covering books. Looking forward to some more now.

scattymam - thanks but we dont have a Home Bargains near us. I went to the toy shop in town again today and left my phone number. The girl who runs it is going to see if she can get one for me and will let me know by the end of the week. Failing that I'll have to get something from argos I think.........or amazon, they had some there.

Spent this afternoon, having got copydex and PVA glue, covering shoe box with fabric.........think it might have been me getting all edgy about whether it would turn out ok -or might have been the fact the glue had to be 'tacky' before I stuck the fabric onto the box, plus fabric and box had to be pasted.....did seem a sticky muddle for a while but it looks ok now. I'm going to cover the inside as well -might use it for MIL's tea/elevenses box..............or might even keep it for myself............lol
    Mary

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Thanks for the update Mary (re copydex)
Hope y'all don't mind but I am having problems with this thread so I am thanking all posts as 'view first unread' isn't working for me and someone had a moan about thanking a few weeks back...
(I am being directed to the last post...both before and after the update!)

    Hello everyone

I came across a fabulous book in the library just for us.

CHRISTMAS - MAKING THE PERFECT CELEBRATION - Carolyn Bell.

500 pages of recipes, edible gifts and drinks, and a massive crafts section. Not to mention an additional section especially of makes especially for the children. There are 1550 colour photos, 200 recipes and 130 projects. Should be enough to keep us going LOL Also Food and craft timelines, what to collect throughout the year etc.

There are some alcohol gifts, vinegars, floristry and decorations that I'm adding my my lists. Best I've ever seen on Christmas as there are some very unusual ideas.

Other than that, my shop bought folders are getting dusty as I've discvered they aren't the most comfortable way for me to refer and update my lists.

Instead I'm cutting the sheets out of cheap lined excercise books and putting them into a big clip that I keep with my daily excercise journal. At the bottom line on each sheet I've got the page title so home organising is in blue ink and Rudolph is in red ink. Also it's easy to use in case you make lots of mistakes, as you can throw out the pages and add new ones.

Also in the charity shop for £1.25 I bought a set of 20 very big, blank cards despicting winter flowers in snow which I thought could be used for Christmas cards, notecards or birthday cards in Winter.

And adding that to the others I have, I've now got enough blank cards at home to set up a stall LOL but it has given me the idea of cards with certain images that could be used for as many different occasions as possible. As I find that there are some people that it is very hard to make or buy for regarding cards so I could do with some sort of universal images that would do for every occasion. Thinking cap on!

I mentioned before I had put away all my dolls house stuff this year - so why was I buying more furniture this afternoon?? Bargain price in the charity shop of course.

Rufusdog - I'm very pleased your daughter has been offered a new home.

JordanShannon - hope you're better. I keep hearing about Twilight but didn't really know what it was however, got the DVD in the library today so hopefully will enjoy it.
