Afternoon Ladies, I went to the local charity shop yesterday and they had a lovely little girls pink dress, like a going out special dress, was only £2.20 so got it for Grandaughters birthday. Even if she only ends up wearing it for dressing up will still be worth the money.
If anyone remembers me telling you about my daughter and her house being a right dump and how I got onto the Agents letting it and threatened to go to the tv and papers, well she has now been offered a new place and is due to move in next weekend so I am well pleased for her.
Been spending all week finishing off a dress for my youngest daughter to wear for the Dickens Festival at Rochester next Friday. Still have to get some hooks and eyes or poppers to do it up as I put pretend buttons down the front but couldnt be bothered to do button holes. Our local sewing/wool shop has been closed all week (shame on them lol) so will have to buy some tomorrow.
Finished knitting another jumper. Have only 3 more childrens ones to go then they will all be done. Cant believe I have done them so quick as its only May, thought it would take me all year to do them. I might do my eldest daughter a couple more if I find some nice wool on offer plus I need to buy wool for the 3 childrens ones. They are for a boy of 4 and twin boys of 2 and their mum likes to dress them all the same so I thought I would make the jumpers out of the same colour for the main bits and do pictures on the front, Bob the Builder for the eldest and one of the trucks each for the tiny's.
In the mean time I have started to knit winter hats with the ear flaps. I have got lots of DK wool in different colours but couldnt find a pattern for DK, all seem to be chunky knit so tried one out last night by using more stitches than on the pattern but its come up a bit small for what I want. I want them for teenagers and it just about fits my grandaughter who is 4 so will have to try again with even more stitches. Might be able to sell the one I have done on Ebay later in the year as a toddlers one or something.
Anyway thats all for now
Catch you later xxx0 -
Hi everyone,
i followed this thread last christmas and had a fabulous time but organising and being able to enjoy my christmas.
This year I have emigrated to the caribbean so things will be different but I hope to try and keep up with you all. We don't have many cheap shops here (charity shops, pound shops ect) so I will have to try extra hard to find cheaper items!
I look forward to kicking off the "organizing"!!!Love a charity shop bargain0 -
Glitterycloud: I'll pop over with some stuff from poundland if you want!0

Hi girls
Brought the twilight books (1-3) on wednesday. Read them all by this morning. Haven't been well. I'll catch up soon. xI am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A0 -
I am definitely with you PLM on Monday for the crafting slot...need a bit of inspiration as I have been rubbish lately, just don't seem to get any time hey ho.
Love your hamper Lucy Lu, I love hampers, I did loads the Christmas before last but was a bit disapointed as the receivers didn't seem overly impressed (I thought they were amazing :rotfl::rotfl:) do you know what I mean, like when you put in loads of effort and think you might as well have just got them a voucher from m&s or something...
My Dad was the most pleased I think with his 'car' based hamper which was a bucket containing loads of car stuff /cleaner/smelly hangy thing/sponge/squeegie etc etc and also a years subscription to Top Gear (got with Tesco clubcard vouchers back in the days when I amassed loads)
Oooh I forgot the 25th is a Bank Holiday, I can do Rudolph Day on the right day rather than Rudolph Eve Day!
I so agree orchid-96, I think personalised hampers are great gifts and look fab. Some people just don't appreciate homemade and the effort you go to do they?
That's a great idea to put a Top Gear subscription with the car hamper, I love that.0 -
Pinkladymel - Thank you for the link to Thomas pics, it looks fantstic. Went to Thomas land today as a treat before my LO starts school in sept. . . . . All I kept thinking was would look even better with snow!!!
I finished my niece's cooking hamper today, really pleased with it and it only cost me £6 should of been £15! Also made a sundae one for my friends 4 children. wished I could keep it, filled with loads of yummy treats (didn't think it through really, suger on xmas morning!!)
Not sure for those people who make lots of cards, the range had a discount bin and it was full of rubber stamps with xmad design for 50p

Anyone know where I can find a play tunnel for 2yr old grandsons birthday ? Our little toy shop here had two and they've sold out. Tried Littlewoods, argos, toysrus -they all seem to be play houses. This one was a sort of tunnel you could either have as one, two or three.
Can't seem to see anything like it
Just popped in here (I'm nosey lol). They sell the play tunnels at Early Learning Centre Mary. http://www.elc.co.uk/toys/outdoor-toys/tents-tunnels/?filter=filter&category=627
If you've got a store locally you could save on postage. You might be able to get one cheaper at Asda?I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -
Nearly finished the cross stitch part for one of my fathers day cards. Decided on the personal touch this year and it means i'm using up the old colour skeins and cards I've got hiding in the cupboard!:T
I've even washed my windows today too... feeling a litlle smug..:A"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0
