  • Hiya Freebie Rocker and welcome to the thread, we are always on the lookout for bargains so you are welcome here lol I love warehouses too :D

Chocolate Orange Money Neutral is about making money from nothing and getting gifts with the money to effectively be getting them for free.. Money saving is about getting things as cheap as you can and finding bargains. I hope I didn't offend anyone with my title and I hope you are not upset. Jammy has decided she would like her thread seperate again and I had to comply with that. My thread was always about getting organized and part of this was that we used to share our bargains together and fill our cupboards.

Mhagster Oh no the nutter has arrived ;) You are our resident superhero? LOL What reduced things did you get today then.. come on brag away LOL

Mary I love the way you alter things found around the home into gifts.. my favourite last year was the mash tins you covered in paper. Unless I am talking rubbish LOL!!

Oooh no one has offended me at all hunny, i just think that by having moneysaving in the title is very confussing. As you say this 'thread is about getting organised and sharing bargains together to fill our cupboards'

So maybe it might make it easier if the money saving bit was kept with money neutral ?? Keep the money together then have this thread to post all the bargain codes or outstanding offers thats found along with things you have done for Christmas here ?

To me , i see Moneysaving as i saved £5 off this presant so i have £5 to my neutral fund or in other words £5 to spend on something else...

Ooh i even confussed myself with that one :rotfl:

I mean i but 6 gifts that i had £30 to spend, But they only cost me £22 so i have saved £8 making the next £5 gift i but money neutral (as i havent had to spend anything on it ) ???

Maybe just having it named organised for Christmas might work better ? as it was before ?As then people with know this is everything to do with getting organised for christmas ? which of course includes bargains that you find along the way

Do you think that may work better and less confussing for any new people who want to join ? At the moment its just like there is this one thread instead of the 2 threads complimenting each other, which is really what they are suppossed to do .

I do honestly just think that Jammy felt that the money side of being prepared was often lost in convosation. Which alot of us found. If you read her post that is what she had put

Ooooh my ive wrote soooo much ... I think i need an organised day thread as i just realised its past 4 and i have so much to do

    xx
furrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:

And on the topic of Christmas I think we need to do something around Christmas films and DVDs - I love the DVDS ive got but think I need more so hows about we list what DVDs we have and people can add onto the list any dvds they have or christmas films theyve watched and enjoyed and hopefully a nice big comprehensive christmas film list will be made for people to enjoy or something
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

a shoe box (all nicely covered) full off odds and sods........some useful, some silly.

Hey Mary, I would be very interested in what you filled your boxes with because i do something similar every year for my best friend :) but normally i just fill it up with alot of things that i come across that i think she would like, but its not exactly cheap lol.

Its her birthday in afew months and i wanted to start planning getting stuff for a box for her. so far i have decided on:

Photoframe, chocolate, marshmellows, keyring, lush soaps, bodyspray and maybe moisturiser set.

Some of them wont be cheap to get unless i really hunt around or see any bargains. To be honest i dont know where to start :o

Well in my mind this thread is all about finding bargains that will help to lessen the cost of xmas, so bargains equals saving money and the other thread is about doing surveys, or things that will help fund your xmas. if that makes sense lol :rotfl:

Isn't this thread about where we spot bargains or how organised we are all being? help us all keep track on our progress and share tips on things we can do to help us :)

Not rubbish at all mel and this year I'm starting to hoard the gravy granule tubs (beef ones have bright red lids........very festive.......lol) Not sure what I'm doing with them yet though............last year a couple became ''canned rainbows'' and ''canned sunshine''............think this year a couple will be cover in white felt and become tubs of snowballs (marshmallows) and I've got a curvy shaped coffee mate jar that I'll fill with marshmallows and try and turn it into a melting snowman..........(I did say 'try'..............lol)
Also had some decorative tins for a 'journal in a tin' and quotes for my friend and three stainless steel ones were -'amazing facts', and 2 with quotes in.............labelled them 'pick 'n mix' cos I put sweets in as well, general idea being a sort of lucky dip to see whether you got a sweet or quote...........lol

Must do something different this year..........there lies the problem:confused:

Sorry but I am going to have a little whinge ....

less than 2 weeks ago the question was asked about threads being seperated or kept together and from reading the posts the general opinions was to keep it all together in one thread like one big happy family.

Now I personally never used the old threads, I found them too confusing and only recently joined the one big conjoined thread which I loved and would never want to change it. You guys have helped me out a lot, you have been there for the rants about various things in life, you have helped support me in trying to reach Jammys challenge and you have also inspired me to do more surveys and manage to be organised in my DD's birthday pressies which cost me a total of approx £15 (well before I blew another £20 trying to ship one in from america due to not being available in the UK)

    Anyway my rant is ...

Why have 2 threads when it was working perfectly well as one thread?

I have to admit I now find it completely confusing and trying to catch up with the posts has been a nightmare! I have thanked each one but I really am confused and now feel like I don't belong in either.

Sorry if I have offended anyone, this wasn't my intention but I guess I should be saying goodbye ... I don't know where to post or what to post so it is often better not to post. Thankyou to you all and I guess I shall maybe see you on other parts of the forum. well that is unless they all change aswell then I shall just stop all together :rotfl:

Good luck with your various challenged everyone and I hope life treats you all well :) you are a lovely bunch of people :) xxx

P.S I have posted this on the other thread aswell :p

Rusty Flange; don't you dare disappear from here, I think we all are a bit confused today, including me o' wonderful wise one! I thought we worked together too.

I'm the first to admit I am not money neutral but as I said a couple of weeks ago I still like to read about what everyone else has done to be neutral.

    please don't go......(cue for a song)

Mags i agree. I thought that the main thread worked well and that we could pick and choose the challenges we want to do, and we could chat about our bargain finds as well as our daily lives. Things did get lost in it but i think we tried hard to make it work. I'm going to try my hardest to keep track of both threads but i don't want to upset anyone.
