Focus888 I am always on Hotukdeals looking at the latest bargains and trying to get all of the things for family that I know can go away in my Christmas cupboard. I wait up till stupid 'o' clock every year and do the Boots 75% off sale too. I love to go to Home Bargains and check out loads of cheap things for hampers.
Ohhh Mel you are here!! *does a dancey dance* That is SO coolI have got to check the Lego shop out now because Lee would freak if I got him another Star wars ship for his birthday but it's hard to sneak one out of Toys R Us when he is there LOL What did you get from Amazon?

Can I join too? I'm always looking for things like this, although I only recently found this website xD
I go to carboots when I can to get gifts and go to warehouse shops to get things cheaper than retail price. I also look on eBay a lot..Sometimes.I.Wonder.Why.I'm.Still.Here..Sometimes.I.Think.I'm.Going.Crazy.0 -
Now i am very confussed
I thought that money saving was all about being money neutral ?? Therefore should be on the other thread ?
Organised is about what you have done to get organised eg bought this and made that
Money neutral is about saving, making money and doing what you can to make Christmas and other events as pain free walletwise for everyone
Im not sure where to post now ???
I dont really do money neutral because because of my love of spending.. But i do survey sites and want to start selling more on ebay. I have a sealed tin too for later in the year and collect £2 to go into bank to fund my christmas spends through the year. So surely this is money saving ??
As for organised. I have a book with gifts i have bought, lists of who i need to buy for. Lists of birthdays i need to buy for. Gifts that i need to make for occasions... So surely this is the organised bit ??
Just feels to me as if this thread is a continuation of thrifty gifty..But with a change of name
Would it not be easier for people to keep the moneysaving and money neutral bit together ?
Then keep what you have done to be organised here ?
Sorry if i offend anyone.... Just not sure where exactly to post, as i find the thread title very confusingfurrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:
About me. Im Choccy or Chocolate orange depending on where i am.Yes occasionally i am a total looon who spends too long online, but no where near as much £ as her spendy elves do ..:D0 -
No show without punch.........here I am!
For those that don't know me....I am Money saving Mhagster.....superhero bargain hunter! I love a bargain, I totally adore Christmas and all birthday celebrations of my family and easter and Halloween. I have a cupboard where all my celebratory stuff lives, along side my beautiful wrapping papers and ribbons. I like my gifts to look beautiful when wrapped.
I am fairly organised for this Christmas already. I love to feel smug come December when everyone is running round like a daftie and I am all sorted! i love to decorate my home, although do not decorate too early....unlike some( PLM) you know who you are!!! I love to cook for Christmas and last year I did dinner very cheaply by buying reduced food in Supermarket and freezing.
I am a bit crafty, I make my own cards but now it's on an as and when basis rather than having a stock to chose from when I first got into cardmaking. Would like to have more time to do cards and scrapbooking but always seem to have other stuff to do.....and kind of have to be in the right mood .
Hopefully familiar faces will join us here and any lurkers will join in too...go on , we don't bite !!!0 -
pinkladymelDo you ever upload pics Mary? I think TBH that you're a moneysaving for occasions veteran and we need your guidance LOL I love carbooting, glad you got a great haul.
Can't do piccys as I don't have the hi tech stuff (scanner, digicamera) so you have to use your imagination with anything I come up with........lol
I started giving away unwanted stuff when I was decluttering the other year........bells rang in my little head that if I put it in the charity shop someone would pay £1 so why not re-use it myself and pass it on (have to make sure it doesn't go back to the person who gave it to me....lol)
Both teenage grandchildren have more than enough and I can't afford the sort of things they might have on their 'wish list' so they get a shoe box (all nicely covered) full off odds and sods........some useful, some silly.Same goes for both my sons, old as they are. They love a surprise and boy do they get one.............:rotfl:Last year oldest on (now 41) said I'd lost the plot but loved it all.
I try and concoct a lot of stuff off the 'crafty for christmas' thread (can hardly callmy bits 'creations') and if I can re-use something round the house and turn it into something else then I've done even better.
Last year I set a target of £5 per person...........have to admit to going up to £10 on a few but, well,it was my first year at target setting.
Make my own cards too..............gives me pleasure (call it occupational therapy) and I know a box of assorted would be cheaper but I've found people like the fact I've spent a bit of time just for them.
So..............thats my ''moneysaving for occassions'' in a nutshell...............lol :rotfl:
Oops -didn;;t realise Id waffled on so much...............lolMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Hiya Freebie Rocker and welcome to the thread, we are always on the lookout for bargains so you are welcome here lol I love warehouses too
Chocolate Orange Money Neutral is about making money from nothing and getting gifts with the money to effectively be getting them for free.. Money saving is about getting things as cheap as you can and finding bargains. I hope I didn't offend anyone with my title and I hope you are not upset. Jammy has decided she would like her thread seperate again and I had to comply with that. My thread was always about getting organized and part of this was that we used to share our bargains together and fill our cupboards.
Mhagster Oh no the nutter has arrivedYou are our resident superhero? LOL What reduced things did you get today then.. come on brag away LOL
Mary I love the way you alter things found around the home into gifts.. my favourite last year was the mash tins you covered in paper. Unless I am talking rubbish LOL!!:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
will brag shortly.....heading out for my Sunday bargains soon!!0

Got to bath the kids LOL see you later:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0

*skips in*
Slightly confused by new threads etc
I have finally sorted through my boots boxes and I have allocated presents for pretty much everyones birthday through out the year and christmas for the extended family so all i have to buy for is immediate family (on my side anyway he can figure his own side out)
Ive also bagged up all my loose change and thats ready to go into a bank account that imsetting up this week just for Christmas and birthdays.
I also have the sealed £2 coin tin going which I think the ladies on this thread are opening on the same day?? (need to be reminded of the day though)
And i now have £20 something on onepollso hopefully that will pay out in time for Christmas
Oooo I feel smugwhich means something no doubt will go wrong
I have all my wrapping paper and bows and tags all ready bought as well as posh christmas cards (from the sales)
And Ive started to make my Christmas cards for those people who will appreciate them
Feeling too organised for my own good this yearLove is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0
