Hi everyone, nice to see you back Mel.

I hope those of you that are busy Rudolph Day, will be able to catch up on the next
    few days.

Did any of you watch Create and Craft yesterday? Lots of Christmas projects, one part had two men presenting the show. I liked the engraved sheets they showed, one of the men whose business they were promoting, described how the designs were made by hand in his studio.

Last night I ripped interesting pages from a very thick craft book as I found whenever I began looking at it, my arms were hurting as it was so heavy. So I put all the gift ideas I liked into my folders and am going to use the rest of the pages to line shelves or drawers. Now I'm annoyed with myself for giving away other craft books because they were heavy, never considering keeping the pages I wanted.

Of course now I'm having a 'too many ideas' crisis :rotfl:

Mel, I really regret buying those 3 journals the other week. They aren't really of any use for my plans. Warning to others - avoid impulsive buying - open packaging if possible or you might be disappointed.

    Hi everyone,

I am quite a lurker - i love reading and getting ideas from everyone on things to do.

My friend's getting married in December and have thought i'd make her a sort of recipe book/note book where i'd start off and put some in there, presented nicely with her favourite foods and then leave room for her to put in some things of her own. The problem is i'm not quite sure what type of book to get to start it - i want something where i can add things such as pretty paper but also keep the book tidy so can anyone suggest a type of book that'd be suitable. I was thinking more along an A5 / A4 size but could really do with some inspiration and help?

    :rudolf:Rudolph Day - June 2009:rudolf:

Merry halfway-Christmas my fellow fanatics and welcome to Junes edition of Rudolph Club. In this very important meeting we celebrate getting to halfway through the year - ALREADY - and what better time to remind ourselves of the purpose of Rudolph Club.
    :xmastree:
Each month we dedicate one day, the 25th, to preparing ourselves for the Christmas period. Take this day to get your notebooks and organisers updated and complete a few Christmas tasks. By spreading this little tradition over 11 months you will hopefully find yourself bursting with festivities and (almost) free of stress in the busy December rush.
    :santa2:
This month I asked you to visit www.organizedchristmas.com and take a look at their printable plans. Once you have made a decision I then asked you to print and create your planner :) By doing this in advance you can take a look over what your plan will entail and do a few things every month so that when it kicks in, you won't have such a workload and will be fully prepared for anything thrown at you!
You could just simply print out all of the worksheets you deem necessary and pop them in a ring binder as they are. If you don't have a printer you could always recreate the relevant work sheets in a notebook.
These planners are excellent resources to look back on and improve in following years as they become tried and tested. I am going to embellish and add to mine over its use to record my christmas preparations and fondly reminisce for years to come.
    :xmassign:

    This months challenge: Recipes.
At christmas time we have enough lists and demands to deal with without the worry of finding recipes. You may want to try something new and are yet to research and test it. You may have got something so perfect last year that you want to write it down and use every christmas to come. Whatever reason you need a recipe for, imagine the bliss of having it all ready to hand in your handy christmas folder.

If you are super organised, you could also research cooking times and a plan for the Christmas Menu, including what will actually be on it and what sort of colour scheme you wish to incoporate on your table this year.

Remember to check out www.organizedchristmas.com for their Rudolph Day tips and enjoy our festive celebration

    Message to everyone:

This Rudolph day is early because I wanted to get it posted. I'm sorry that it is short but it's what I already had typed out in notepad and it's all I can post right now.

I have been thinking for a long time about my involvement in the forum and the amount of time I dedicate to it. I spend a lot of time posting here but also there is a lot of work I do behind the scenes such as endless PM's and emails every day asking me for advice or other questions (Which is always cool with me, I LOVE to help, but it takes a lot of time to reply!) and organising/researching Rudolph day.

I look after my two toddlers and husband, have a part time job and also the scrapbook apprentice competition. I am lucky that my job lets me work from home but this has involved me staying up till 3am to catch up on work I should have done in the morning when Logan was at nursery, when instead I was doing my forum jobs/procrastinating.

It took a lot of heartache to get my children so I wouldn't miss a second they are home but I admit I am very tired because of my late nights/early mornings and I don't want to be this way anymore.

I have thought about leaving the forum for a while now and on monday I received news about my health at my scan that has made me re-evalute life and how precious it is. How important it is to be with my family and give them everything I can.

I'm not saying this forum isn't important, that all my friends I have made here aren't worth staying for. It is because you are all important that I keep logging on every day. The point is, I have got to break free because it is more then I can handle right now.

I have renamed the thread and it belongs to all of you now (as it always did) and I invite every single person to enjoy it and keep the Christmas spirit alive. Keep Rudolph day alive.

Thank you for a wonderful 10 months of friendship and Christmas madness. xx

P.S - I ask with no offense intended that you enjoy festivities and do not email, PM or reply to me. I really want everyone to move on and enjoy life as best as they can - Make the most of every single day, that is what I intend to do from now on. I hope you can all understand and appreciate that xx

Asda had some ringbinder type things with index cards in about A5 size - only bout £1.50 but they had loads of colours - not sure if that's any use at all - resisted the urge for yet another notebook so didn't buy one - might nip in on Friday though :p

I understand exactly what you mean mel - it's far more important to look after yourself and you loved ones but don't leave us completely.

I'm a can cook but choose not to so OH will have to look out his own xmas recipes - I have far more important things to do than cook :rotfl::rotfl:
