Hope you had the stiff drink, thats the delights of this board, you get some brillinat ideas,
I know for sure that I coukdnt meet my "expected" birthday spends, in our house, I do a trade off I take care of birthday presents and xmas, instead of contributing to some of the household bills ( I def get the better deal).
Some people we have to buy 3 sets of present, off mum + dad, me, dd so that is a headache b4 we start.
But this might give you faith, as I have finished the birthday presents for the year, (includes birthdays, fathers day x 2, mothers day x 3, + 2 presents for teachers when dd changes class)
35 people - 68 sets of presents
Expected budget = £490.00
Actual Spend = £223.90
Proper price of presents - £668.00
that really is impressive do you want to come do my shopping! lol:D
Ive been into the attic/craft room/ dumping area  and have found my leftovers from last year and the few bits I got in the January sales.
With this stuff I have managed to do my friends 8yo sons birthday, her 1yo birthday and the 1yo xmas so im glad i looked before i went shopping.
Ive also got some bits and bobs for the 8yo for xmas and the 3yo so am feeling a little better.
Any ideas for a 26yr old mum of 3 for her birthday she doesnt have time for reading or watching dvds and i think if i buy her smellies again she may start wondering if im hinting that she smells:p
bye 4 now

Afternoon girls,
I had to laugh at one of the posts on the previous page where janey mentioned buying alcohol inks and playing around with baked bean tins! Imagine some poor soul accidentally landing on our thread whilst looking for something completely different and reading some of our posts! lol
You all sound very upbeat today. In preparation of the start of the Houseworks plan, I've started some of my 'back-burner' to-do's and really surprised myself as they've been on my lists for years. I think because the OC is such a good goal that I don't want to be bogged down with all these extra de-clutter projects that are HUGE and would never have been done in the week that the plan allows. So started the garage, computer room, bedroom and the dreaded filing.
Well done on all your accomplishments - your savings and those of you that have completed special occasions for the year or even Christmas!
I want to start herb vinegar, herb oil and a windowsill pot pourri where you add newly flowered petals to the jar each week throught the year, then add dry orange peel. Put it on a sunny windowsill and stir every now and again. I hope it works. Also want to make dry orange/cloves for myself as I love that aroma.
I'm currently doing cedar oil sachets for the house as last year I had a very bad moth infestation, used spray to get rid of most of them, but the stragglers are now appearing - hence the reason I attacked the computer room yesterday as the carpet hadn't seen the light of day in years due to software boxes stacked floor to ceiling.
26yr old mom ideas -does she live nearby? What about a voucher saying you'll babysit, give her some spare time to herself?0 -
Everyone is doing so well, I've have hardly managed anything today. Posted a few letters, put a shelf and a mirror up in the bathroom and been to town to do some shopping.
While in puondworld I did notice they are selling some old fashioned type sweeties in tubs, thought they would look really nice re-packaged as pressies, might nip and get some next week (hope they have some left now).
Anyway better get on with some jobs or I will get nothing done again.
Catch you all later
Sarah

Where's the Coffee?? Show me the Coffee NOW!!0 -
Hi all
Mary is still absent from the forums at the mo as her pc is completely knackered - to the point of needing to think about buying a new one. She sent me a very cute card today...
She is busy making snowmen out of socks for Xmas - far too organised for my liking . She said she is missing everyone and hopes to be back online soon! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

I'm mum of one (as it says), but find that I dont think of pampering myself, or treating myself to posher item, if I buy from the Body Shop its either the sale or the outlet shops.
Dont know what ur budget is, but if you have a college near you, most of them have a salon where they teach, so u would be haveing a student doing it, but a tutor peeps in, save a fortune
eg our local college - eyelash tint £4.00, gel nails £12, you can pre buy vouchers, I know there not open over the school hols but may be a nice treat as a belated present.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
