For those with Firefox compatibility issues - if you download an add on called "Nightly Tester Tools" it provides an option in the firefox add ons window to "override all compatibility".

Since downloading it, each time I have upgraded firefox I've managed to get all my add ons to work with the new version.

Morning all,

I think this might be a really stupid question but I am a bit confused, this comp that I found yesterday ending in 2011 was moved to game over. Is this because the end date is so far away?

If I find comps does the end date have to be in the same year? Sorry Ive only been these boards for a week and there is some stuff I still dont understand but I would hate to create extra work for the Board movers in future.

It'll have been an accident. They have hundreds to move each day, so don't check every title. PM a BG and they'll move it back.

I didn't think it was too pushy but obviously it must have been.i'm really annoyed and embarrassed at the way they have handled this matter.I don't really know what else to say.

Don't usually post on stroppy threads as I am a total wimp but:

Has your complaint gone in to the Institute of Sales Promotions yet? I assume you were serious - seems a little hard you should sneer at a company and stop a popular little competition but can't carry out your own promises. Pot - kettle - black, perhaps?

Before anyone looks back, yes I did win batteries and got them very quickly. Yes, I do think Battery Force could have done more for you in the name of good public relations and yes, for whatever reason, I think it may have been a good excuse to pull the comp.

However your email launches into immediate threats of going to a higher authority and shows no willingness to meet them halfway - at the end of the day, the fault lies with the Post Office not the company. If Battery Force have been told the address was inaccessible why should they send out more to someone who hardly comes across as reasonable?

To the much respected poster who will no longer buy from Battery Force because of this (actually) quite minor incident; if you were satisfied with their price and their service why on earth are you withdrawing your business when the fact is (apologies if I am wrong) you do not know this poster and you don't know whether she has told us everything that passed between them?:eek:

To those who would ask how I would have reacted if my batteries had not arrived and I got this response - I believe the saying is you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

Board Guides are listed at the bottom right of their boards and on the Board Guide list. Board Guides can only take action on their own patches.

Thankyou to everybody that has made comments on this matter.
Below are the 2 e-mails that i have recieved from battery force,i have not sent any other e-mails to them,other than the e-mails that i have put on the forum.
I would like to say that anybody that has taken offence from anything that has happened between myself and battery force,i do apologize and please do not make any harsh decisions/judgements towards battery force due to what has happened,at the end of the day,battery force have many satisfied customers.The reason i did not recieve the batteries is my own fault,i may have been over the top with my second e-mail to them but to be honest,i am not that petty and would not have taken this matter any further anyway.The only thing that i am annoyed about is the comment that was put on their website about myself,which i believe was unfair to me and the fact that the promotion has been stopped due to me,i believe this was unfair to everybody.:((i have ommitted any names and personal details from the e-mails)

Our investigations show you entered the daily draw and were notified that you had won on 30th November 2009. As promised, your winning pack of batteries was despatched via order number SBF0261903 also on 30th November 2009 to the address given by you when entering the competition. We notified you via email to confirm the despatch of the batteries as planned.

We have found the address you gave for delivery didn't include a house number.
We suspect Royal Mail returned the item to us because they didn't know where to deliver the parcel and not due to the recent adverse weather conditions which did not start until around the 17th December 2009.

Our competition was started in April 2005 and was aimed to be fun for entrants while allowing potential customers to try out our service. Of course, Battery Force has costs associated with the promotion and thus also aimed for it to be run as efficiently as possible. In view of the value of the prize, one way we can do this is to only ship the item once to the address given by the entrant and refrain from entering into correspondence relating to the promotion.

We've thought long about how this issue has been dealt with and are sorry you felt so strongly about our conduct. Taking into account the aims of the draw and the spirit of the draw we are happy to re-despatch a pack of batteries to you and hope that this will close the matter on a positive note. We have also decided to end the promotion.

For us to resend a pack of batteries, you will of course need to provide us with your house number.
