Can anyone confirm DEFFO who they are currently searching.

Callcredit seems to be popping up alot recently.

    HSBC are DEFINATELY using experian

    and equifax is used randomly

When you get declined, they will tell you at the back of the letter that they used equifax and/or experian

I've just got my Callcredit file out....

The date that I applied for the credit card on internet banking the following TWO searches are listed on my Callcredit file.

    Search Organisation - HSBC (SA,SR,TAC)
    Search Purpose - Administration Review

    Search Organisation - HSBC (SA,ST,RAC)
Search Purpose - Credit Checking Application

I was very surprised that Callcredit had been searched.

Virgin media has only searched and reported to equifax. Virgin mobile as well. I thought they used experian but there is no record of any of their searches on my credit file. Can anyone confirm that they do use experian?

  • Afternoon, I was advised that after 6 months of continuos account usage and managing within the agreed facilities, First Direct would be able to increase my CC limit or if I applied for a personal loan, they would have sufficient information not to conduct an external credit check. Anyone had experience of this? :rotfl:

What hey mean is after 6mth you'll have a behaviour score which they can guarantee limits to you based on, subject to an external credit search. They will always do an external search - this is normal across the board now.

They do use behaviour scores to assess the maximum guaranteed amounts you can get, but depends what your credit file shows. If no change to that in last 6mths then you should get limit increase fine....

Can I ask what your CC limit was when you opened 1st direct? I applied and got pre-approval of £6400 but then got declined account lol

HSBC over the years I've had a loan, credit card with 7,500, overdraft increase etc.

First Direct...zilch! maybe it's because I already had things with HSBC.
