Me too actually, I think they are awesome - but want their CC or I may be forced to go elsewhere...... Its a principle thing from here on in. Proves my point when they see how I handle my account, i.e. my credit file is out of character and they can see this first hand so I do expect them to come back with a yes based on their relationship with me - not a silly score from a CRA this is factually a waste of space!

No, the limits were guaranteed subject to credit check.... so in that, if I had guaranteed limits of a £5k loan and a £5k CC and a £2k o/d then they done an account review and I passed the credit search (i.e. unrecorded enquiry) then i'd be allowed all of these and they would be guaranteed to go through and not referred.

I've been with them for what...14 years now, since I joined secondary school, dont know what it is but any other bank just aint the same!

Trust me Barclays do not do an external credit check on LIMITS this has been confirmed by Barclays Manager _ PM him to confirm

I haven't a clue why they told me to 'sod off' (technical term) for the credit card.

I had one which I closed down in 2005 with a 7,500 limit, but now I don't meet the critria according to the secure message they sent me, but they want to flog me loans !

I used to work at Barclays and the limits screen always used to intrigue me!
