Amended to report both EX and EQ

Noah my Brother checked his Experian file yesterday and Next Directory also search Experian, not only Equifax.

Also He applied for a HSBC Plus account and they searched both Experian and Equifax. I thought I would share the news with you.

When I applied in February they only searched Experian they never searched Equifax!!!

Niether did the Halifax. Barclays did search both and so did Natwest.
  • From experience, I believe Clydesdale Bank use Experian exclusively. I've renewed a loan a few times with them and that seems to be the way they operate. Can anyone else confirm?

I have updated and amended the list.

I believe HSBC do have a router system that they check EX and EQ on certain dates and then to EX and CC and so forth. Could anyone confirm this?

It seems that some lenders have different credit checks in different places, making it all harder for us to know for sure. The only way to know for sure is to ask the lender which CRA's they are going to credit search.

    Keep them coming....

    What a very useful thread

Just to add my wee bit - I have been with Ace gifts and cards for years they have never reported to Experian, They only report to Experian and Call Credit
