Oh no Toto, poor little thing. You must be so worried. :grouphug:

Is she going to see the ENT specialist today?

Toto, huge hugs for you and the family.
It's hard enough you've got an only one who is poorly, but when you have other children and a young baby, it must be horrendous.

I hope they manage to sort something out soon, keep sending her home isn't working :kisses3:

I'm just so tired of seeing her sick snags, it's horrible I wish I could take it off her and have it myself.

No idea, probably not, no doubt they will just refer us to the clinic as she seems to be picking up a bit from the antibiotics.

She looks like one of those pictures you see from the war when the poor souls had been in concentration camps. She's skin and bone, her skin is grey, sunken eyes and she has sores all around her mouth.

Did you say it was glandular fever? My sister had that as a teenager, it was awful. How old is Jas?

You must all feel really drained, there's nothing worse than seeing your children sick. :(

I wish I lived nearer so I could do something to help.

Yeah she has glandular fever but she has severe tonsilitis too which is the main problem, her throat is almost closed, she has just enough space for a bit of air to get through at the bottom, the top of her throat is closed. She was just 13 last month.

I'm exhausted, but ok. Hubby is away on tour which isn't helping either, so I'm having to juggle the other kids and the hospital. My lovely childminder is up at the hospital sitting with Jas at the moment (I think she prefers having louise there than me :) ) But I had to come home to sort out the other lot before Louise takes them for the day.

poor little girl, hope they see her soon. Very unfair that the ENT guy is 'too busy', more like too busy on the golf course :(

Has anyone had the CD bars? I can't have the shakes at work (because someone else in my department does, and she is laughed at mercilessly...and I can't face that), so I've been having nothing except water from 8am till 4pm, and it's making me really tired. Within 15 mins of having a shake, I feel better, so if I could eat a bar or something at work, I'm pretty sure I'd find it much easier.

Get one of those "creatine" protein shake bottles from a weightbuilder shop, have the shake already in it and mix it up. Anyone asks - this is what you're aiming for...

Because there are so many people at work who need a new one ripping, for their unpleasant comments...

I just thought if I had the bars, I could take it out of the wrapper and sit and eat it without anyone knowing it was a CD bar.

Snaggs, you cant have the bars till week three though as they have a higer carb content and you need to be firmly established it ketosis or they will knock you out. Do you have any ketosix pee sticks to test yourself? If not pm me and I will send you some :D
I was thinking about CD the other day just generally - what is the difference between CD and Slimfast? I'm guessing its the same as the CD plan where you eat a small meal at the end of the day? Or is it different in some way?

Hi Keren, when tested SF doesnt contain all the nutriants your body desires. So although you are replaceing 2 meals that was prob high calorie for a low calorie SF shake its not low enough to get you in ketosis. CD on the other had has everything you need (in 3/4 meals depends on your height) and puts you into ketosis within 4 days, you are then burning fat to survive. Also the key thing for me was you are monitored on CD, you could do SF 3 a day (not advisable you should to just have 2) for years and get seriously ill. With CD you can only do the vlcd for 12 weeks on the 13th week you have to go up to 810 calories for one week. In this week you have a very restricted protin and veg based meal. Then you can go down to the vlcd again.

You are only allowed to lose weight on CD till you ahve a bmi of 25 + 1 stone then you have to work up all the plans. Again on SF you could do it till your skin and bones ~ although the results arnt as quick.

    Hope that helps

*steps off CD soap box now, I think I have read far too much before starting this :rotfl:*
