I've heard that people are camping outside my local store tonight to be the first to grab the 1p items. The store only opens at 9.30am.

Some crazy people! for what? Ebay to be flooded with the goods ?

Genuine people like me who will arrive at a sensible time will probably end up with nothing as there will be some !!!! takers, giving 5 items to family, dogs and kids to buy..........:rotfl:

Assuming 2,000,000 products available over 300 stores over 3 days and 5 items per customer =

444 people able to buy 5 items in each store per day.

So if you are number 446 in the queue you might as well not bother

And thats not counting the greedy individuals who will no doubt be there with their extended family/many "friends" who send 10 people in to get a bag, then hand it back to their friend/whoever waiting in a car/outside the shop, only for them to go back and grab more. Can imagine that the whole thing would last about an hour.
Still, good publicity stunt though, they must get a 1000% increase in foot-fall on those days!

So going on that definition, I would say every other store (including the food only stores) will be having these 1p sale days. Could this be every major store as oppose to some major stores?

it does state on the website that Simply Food stores ARE NOT included.

The main stores are the big main stores, that have most of the stock they sell. They now only have 300 stores, other than the fourcourt, and simply food stores, that are not included

Hi, I fully expect to be shot down in flames here...but..here goes anyway.

Is it possible that people can think of others as well as themselves? I like a bargain as much as the next person and will be at M&S today. But i don't intend to keep getting in the queue etc as i think this is wrong. M&S say 5 items per person and will have stocked for that....the way i see it if i get more than 5 then someone else will miss out and be disappointed? Isn't 5 enough...thats a real bargain and a great treat, and maybe another person wont be disappointed later on if we are not all greedy?

    Just a thought..............

The sale is on from opening time (8.00 at our Newcastle store) for an hour each day or untill stock for that day runs out if that is earlier. It will be held in one place not accross the store.
