Oh dear! no replies at all -never mind - thanks to all who looked - perhaps I could get suggestions of lemon cordial recipes from OS'ers and let my mum decide on which she likes
(maybe score half brownie points?)
Has anyone easy peasy fruit/lemon cordial recipes please - I understand I maybe get moved to join another thread but I don't mind at all!

This is my recipe - it's super easy peasy:
Lemon syrup
4 cups sugar
2 ½ cups boiling water
28g tartaric acid
1 cup lemon juice
Dissolve the sugar and tartaric acid in the boiling water
Add the lemon juice

Hi, I have a surplus of plums and apples every year. Bottlegreen have a lovely (but expensive) plum nad apple cordial and i'd like to try and replicate it. I've found one similar sort of recipe but it doesnt have citric acid and I'm wondering whether thats what makes cordial keep (i've made elderflower cordial before)
Any general type rules greatly appreciated
Thanks!0 -

Hello! I've just made some blackberry cordial, and was wondering if anyone has any uses for the remaining blackberry pulp. It seems a shame to just put it in the compost bin, if I can make something else with it. Has anyone ever tried making a pie with it? If so, what was it like?0

I made a flapjack recipe that has a layer of blackberries in the middle mushed up. That would probably be a good use for them. I'll trade you, flapjack recipe for the cordial recipe?0

Fruit cheese are usually how I use up my leftover bits and pieces. Here is a quick linky but a google should find you other info if needed.
Well worth a try

Thanks for the tips! The cordial recipe was a really simple one - just blackberries, sugar and water - which was how I wanted it. I had approx. 800g of blackberries, so used about a litre of water and 400g of sugar. It tastes amazing!!!0

thought i'd give this damson syrup recipe a go http://www.winesathome.co.uk/downloads/syrupsandcordials.pdf
has anyone made anything like this before? It'll be my first foray into making anything like this. Last yr was my first yr into preserving and made a great deal of foraged apples, pears, plums, sloes and elderberries into chutneys, sauces and jams. Unfortunately, I don't have a massive love of these, so I ended up gifting most of them away for Xmas. I've even made preserved lemons this yr from 10p lemons (Brum Market) and made about 30+ of them in January. They're still in my cupboard UNOPENED!:o:o:o
I would love to own a swanky dehydrator but they're a bit too pricey for my liking. One day, I'll get to make some yummy fruit leathers etc.,0 -
I made blackberry cordial last year. I bottled half and froze the rest in ice cube bags. The kids loved the bottled stuff but I found the frozen stuff hard to mix with water? I would also put the fruit juice through a muslin bag/tea towel/pillow case as the juice will end up lovely and clear.
My OH made fruit leather using the oven this week. I know he meant well and was really pleased with the results but he made enough for 2 sheets of the leather and for some bizarre reason thought it was fine to have the oven on its lowest setting for 8!!!! hours for 1 sheet    The rest of the mix has been mixed with some syrup ready to be turned into jam this week."Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.
