  • I have had three for quite a while and to be honest i have not had any problems with them. My contract was about to finish so I got throught to disconnections (agreed before this points they are useless)
    I now have 300 minutes,
unlimited internet (that i hammer all day long)
    2000 three to three minutes
    5000 texts,
plus a samsung glaxy europa (that i will give to my best friend because i already have a galaxy SII).
they offered this for £15 pound a month.
I said no thank you as I do not want to be tied in to a contract. They said how about all £13 for 24 months?. I said Ok!
For me, what really does it is the unlimited internet, I also use my phone as a mobile internet dongle (via thetherring) so I feel quite happy. :)

Does anyone know if you go through quidco to T-mobile, get a contract and then transfer your number, whether you still get cashback?

If you mean porting your old number to T-mobile, then its fine. Porting from T-mobile terminates the contract and is likely to affect the cashback.
That said, cashback is never guaranteed even if you do everything perfectly. Also, I think Topcashback is more reliable and customer-oriented than Quidco.

I've got a PAYG on t-mobile and wanted to transfer the number to the contract on t-mobile that i just bought. Quidco has tracked, just want to be sure going from PAYG to contrcat wont invalidate the cashback.
  • I need a new phone now because my old one is broken. I have had no joy with Vodafone with getting as a good a deal for an upgrade as I can for a new contract.

However, they have said that if I do this I can't keep the same number because I am not changing network. Further, I can't get a PAC anyway until my contract expires in January.

Can I get around this by using my old sim card in my new phone and then getting a PAYG sim with another network when my current contract expires, port my number to this, and then immediately port it back to the new phone?

(I realise this mean paying for 2 contracts for a couple of months, but this still works out cheaper than any upgrade they will offer!!)

Yes, you can if your 'old' sim is Voda or the new phone is unlocked. Porting in two steps is the usual way of doing this, but at Voda it can be done simpler: Vodafone won't let me keep my number for a new contract

Even cheaper would be to wait for two months and then buy a new contract. A back up phone costs just a few pounds and you need it anyway.

    Transferred query to that thread.

ive just had a virgin mobile retention deal but have not received anything in writing. i told them i was leaving to go to tesco mobile on a £10month contract(24months), 250mins, 500gb of data and plenty of texts(not really bothered about texts) and a new phone. virgin offered me a better deal to stay, £10.53 per month(18month contract), new samsung galaxy ace, 1gb of data and unlimited texts. i accepted deal and new phone arrived yesterday. the only paperwork i have came with the phone stating tariff was £25.53 month and no mention of the data allowance or contract length. they did tell me on the phone that account would be credited £15 per month to bring it down to the £10.53. However, ive got nothing in writing and im concerned that they could renege on this deal or it will be just for a few months. has anyone else had a similar experience and got anything off them in writing.
  • just renewed/upgraded my contract with t-mobile this evening. I was originally paying £25pm (24m contract) for 900 xnet mins, 500 txts and internet 500MB. I informed them I want to know what my options were and I am very interested in SAVING MONEY and also getting the best out of my spend and I AM WILLING TO LOWER MY MINUTES to 600 xnet mins. alls well. I was given a package of 600 xnet mins, 500 txts and added internet bundle of 500MB, 12 month SIM ONLY contract after discount £9.00 inc. VAT after LOYALTY DISCOUNT of £6.00. HAPPY DAYS?.. NO.

I went online to their website and looked at SIM ONLY DEALS and came a across similar package to what i was offered... £15.32pm, 12 month contract, 600 xnet mins, 500 texts and it INCLUDES 500MB INTERNET as standard and an added FREE bundle could be more texts or t-mobile mins or landline mins... so it would appear I was cheated out of a good deal. I phoned back and pointed it out, "sorry sir, but that deal is an online deal" I pointed out nowhere on the page does it say the deal is exclusive to online customers and NOT available in the t-mobile shops, which they usually do on special offers and this bundle was not a SPECIAL OFFER EITHER, then the man tells me the discount cannot be used on that offer. I was not buying it so I told him, OK, if this is only an internet offer, show the package given to me before discount, is it viewable online? I am willing to go to your shop if the deal is only viewable in the shops... "but sir this deal was tailored for your needs" Yeh right, tailored to RIP ME OFF. I have 7 days cooling period BUT I WANT TO KNOW is this not deceiving, internet website consists mainly of what is available in their shops on the high streets, and the better deals THAT ARE CLEARLY STATED "ON-LINE ONLY" and this is not the case here ( I HAVE A SCREENSHOT OF THE WEBPAGE so IS T-MOBILE NOT BREACHING A SALES ACT? PLEASE HELP and enlighten me on this. MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I don't think that they breached anything. You can never assume that they offer you the best deal available if you just ask them.
Just cancel if you can and buy what you want. Don't miss £50.50-£60.60 TCB cashback or buy through Chitter-Chatter where you'll get the same airtime cheaper.
