Surely they wouldn't offer you anything good when you still had two months ahead to serve.
You always can get a better deal when the minimum term is over and you can leave. Even better is to get a PAC and wait until they call you.
  • I didn't succeed with O2. I tried to tell them that I could get a better deal with EE and they wanted evidence. I sent them the evidence and they told me they could not find it and offered me a deal that would cost £100 more over 2 years than the EE deal. I demanded my PAC code and told them I'd move elsewhere. All because of their refresh deals; I only signed up to a contract so I wasn't tempted to upgrade every couple of months. They reduced their prices but not enough to beat EE. Obviously 10 years of being a customer means nothing nowadays.

My contract has finished with 3 and I tried and failed to get even the same deal. I have been with 3 for many years. I have Note 2 with 1000 mins, unlimited texts and data for £28.I use up to 8Gb a month. I looked online for the upgrade deals then called them on 4 occasions and they quote me £33 for the G3 or £48 for the Note 4 (600 mins, unlimited texts and data). They wont budge and just say that is the best I can do anywhere. I say I can do better through resellers like Mobile.co.uk with cash back and they say I cant. I have now cancelled my contract. I would like to stay with 3 because I dont even get 3g coverage at home with Giff Gaff/ O2. T-mobile has coverage but I read of their poor customer service.

    Similar story with three.
My 4s battery life isnt great after over 2 years so thought I'd see what theyd offer on a 5s.
Had moneysupermarket in front of me and was aiming for £32 with data being my main use.
Offered me nothing inspite of quoting the 3rd party deal I could quote with ee.
Just kept telling me that 3rd party sites werent as good as them although I'm telling him its where the current contract came from in the first place.
Then started telling me stories of woe that he couldnt really support when i brought dsr in and eveything else.
I even pulled out the appalling reception round here pointing out that they really needed to get close to keep my custom.
Nothing doing, so new phone ordered and new contract with cashback too.

Found them totally entrenched and was only interested in staying with them for the feel at home thing as were heading to.the states in the summer.

THREE no longer has a disconnections department. To discuss leaving the company, you have to deal only with the screen-reading staff at the call centre in Bangalore.

Also, the deals they offer to long-term customers (8+ years in my case) are no better than you'd get elsewhere on the net, their customer service is appalling, their entire sales effort biased towards pushing overpriced contract including phones and marginalising SIM-only customers so my strong advice is to look elsewhere.
  • My contract with Vodafone was up for renewal in November. £42pm, 2gb data, unlimited calls, unlimited texts.

I told them I didn't need a new phone/upgrade and would rather go on a sim only deal and buy a phone separately if needs be but my S4 was sufficient. I was offered their new vodafone red deal which was sold to me as a family package where buy i pay one amount and they send out up to 9 sim cards able to use the same data allowance with the ability to put caps on each sim etc. I waited for the sims to come and called back when they didn't. I was told to go to store and they would issue them immediately. The store said that each sim cost £15pm and id been informed incorrectly. I called back clearly not amused at the run around i was being given and went to retentions. They said really sorry its a new product and clearly there are issues regarding training. He said I would get their loyalty discount allowance of 50% applied my account. After we discussed my needs he came up with £11 (inc vat) unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 4gb data and free netflix or sky sports mobile. :rotfl:

Three wouldn't budge on price either when I tried (despite being with them for quite a few years).
I told him of better prices via merchants and cashback sites and the guy on the phone actually laughed at me while saying they've the best deal i need!

I complained later that day and was offered 1 free month if I stayed with them. Apart from that...nothing.
  • I've been with orange for years and they've always got me a good deal through retentions - this year it's now EE and they can only seem to offer me exactly the same prices I can get elsewhere as a new customer and with those companies I can go through topcashback and save an extra 30-40 quid or I can do thoe line rental cashback deals (yes a pain!) but save quite a bit.

It seems that EE cannot do any deal on all of the phones I suggested which I can't get elsewhere so I am not being rewarded at all for being an orange customer for years which is very disappointing.

Customer service has gone downhill since becoming EE - my current phone had problems within the first year of my contract and I got no response to any of the e-mails I sent. When it was orange and I've had phone problems before they simply sent out a new replacement phone the next day.

Thinking I should switch to O2 as they have all the O2 priorities too - ee are getting rid of the film deal soon and I still don't know what they are planning to replace this with.
