Check if you already have a 3 mobile phone as i have (3 skype phone version2) and it can be used as a dongle for pc, laptop etc if i just use the usb cable that came with it. You can then buy the credit as a normal. When you top up it gives you the option of buying internet credit. I cannot remmeber exact wording but something came up last time i topped up.
right just had a play on my phone went into my3 and buy add ons
internet from 50p a day. You can buy just a day at a time which will come out of your balance. weekly is £2.50 monthly is £5.00!
oops thats just on the phone its £10 for 30 days if you use your phone as a dongle.
ooooooooo says i can watch tv channels for £2 a month valid for 30 days. I swear i did not even know my phone had this option? hmmm need to find out more.0 -
i have just ordered one of the dongles then read your comments, you are a bunch of scare mungers i have rang the number up from the invoice, a lovely guy told me all was ok and my order was being dispatched0

According to the that image that someone posted of the tariff the top up expires after 30 days. So whats's the point of having Pay As You Go if it expires, you might aswell get a £10/month contract. The only benefit PAYG has is if you only need it certain months of the year.0

The word is 'SCAREMONGER'.
Thank you for your input, but I don't think too many people here are going to take your poorly presented first post as evidence that their credit card/debit card details are secure.0 -

It is rediculous how quickly people have jumped to (the wrong) conclusions.
Perhaps so, but imo there was just cause for concern (especially at the time of the 1st automated Egg call I got).
Wont be the first time we've seen posts on here where people have been scammed by similar looking offers. Nothing wrong in being wary when it comes your hard earned. I'd rather jump the gun and look silly about it than sit back on my laurels believing everything is ok when my cc account is getting fleeced right left and centre.
To be fair, we're also hardly going to just believe a new poster who tells us he/she spoke to someone and was told everything is ok.For all we know it could either be someone of the 3dongle4free site posting here or the person on the phone could have been telling juedrop all is well whilst he gleeefully scamming his/her card.
I accept it's not likely .....but like I say, you cant be too careful. Just because someone says something doesnt make it so. Anyway the concern wasn't really over whether the dongle was going to turn up or not...it was more about what else is going to get charged to your card fraudulently afterwards. A point juedrop seems to have missed.
I bought a small item from PlayTrade a few months back...a week later my card was fraudulently hammered for hundreds.
I also want to add that I dont think someone who makes their first post an insulting one ("you are a bunch of scare mungers") is likely to get much respect anyway.Herman - MP for all!0 -

From our pov...OH and I will likely only use a dongle erratically. A contract means you have to pay £10 every month whereas there may be some months that we don't need mobile bb access so it would be a bit of a waste in our particular case. (As you said above.)
This cheap deal is ideal for us....£4.95 for the dongle itself and then only £10 as and when needed. I hope it is genuine because it's just what we need.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Lol....where are all these 'new' posters coming from?Herman - MP for all!0

Indeed... they don't seem to address the point that credit/debit card details entered are not secure.0
