Untwist your underwear. You clearly missed the point that it has been confirmed that the payment page is not secure.
It is not recommended to enter banking details on a website that is not secure.
It is that simple. Not 'scare mung(sic)ering. It's ok to have a lack of knowledge. That is precisely why this forum exists. To share knowledge.
So hopefully, now you know.
Don't send your card details via a website that does not use the appropriate security for your information. i.e. Look for https at the beginning of the URL.0 -

My comment to juedrop was offered as an explanation why a newbie might not have been believed. You must have been around here long enough to know that companies do (regularly) sign up and pretend to be ordinary members.
Have any of you who have had conversations with this company been assured your financial details are safe? Or have you only asked if you're getting your dongle? :rolleyes:Herman - MP for all!0 -
Is it just me or is the website not working?

I took the plunge and ordered one earlier, used my debit card and the account is nearly empty anyway!!0

I didn't get a confirmation email with my order... I know I've been charged, but they haven't sent me confirmation by email. Has this happened to anyone else?0

@aliasojo
Sorry to be pedantic, but I wrote this on a Netbook, an HP2133 to be precise and if i make it any smaller, people might not read it. I mean, it seems a lot of people have already given their credit card details over an unsecured connection, even after I posted! They might as well stand in a crowded street and shout their credit card number.
So to be honest, I think moneysavingexpert should pull this thread or at least edit the first post to remove the link.0 -
According to the that image that someone posted of the tariff the top up expires after 30 days. So whats's the point of having Pay As You Go if it expires, you might aswell get a £10/month contract. The only benefit PAYG has is if you only need it certain months of the year. From our pov...OH and I will likely only use a dongle erratically. A contract means you have to pay £10 every month whereas there may be some months that we don't need mobile bb access so it would be a bit of a waste in our particular case. (As you said above.)
This cheap deal is ideal for us....£4.95 for the dongle itself and then only £10 as and when needed. I hope it is genuine because it's just what we need.
Excuse me for butting in ....
I actually got one of these from 3 last October ON CONTRACT via a special half-price offer on QUIDCO. I'm on 5gb per month (that's FIVE GIG) for 18 months at £7.34 (VAT rate adjusted £7.50) less £12.50 I got from QUIDCO (worth 69p a month).
So it's costing me just £6.65 per month. (£119.70 over the whole contract)
Now I can see that some/many of you don't want a contract, preferring to choose when to pay for specific usage periods (though given the same deal I'm sure some would jump at the chance)
However that's not quite the point.
If I understand with this (dodgy?) offer, for £4.95 P&P you get a dongle to use on PAYG
For £10 per month you can get 1gb download - but this expires after 30 days whether you've used it or not.
So if you want access at least once every 31 days you will have to pay £120 for a year.
£125 including getting the dongle ! Or £65 if you just use it "alternate months"
So what is my point ?
MAPLIN
This 3 dongle is available at MAPLIN as part of a STARTKIT - it's PAYG but come PRE-LOADED with a download allowance.
There's 3gb/3months, 12gb/12months or 24gb/24months
The 12gb offers the best value at £99.99 (was £149.99)
However that's not the end of the story.
Sign up for their email newsletter and it will arrive with DISCOUNT VOUCHER CODES.
One of them is £7 OFF a £100 spend (to use ONLINE OR IN-STORE)
OK, you'll have to add a 1p resistor to your basket to get the £100 code to work but that means you can get it for £93
Further more go through QUIDCO and you'll get another 4% (which can track at the full £100) so is worth £4 (or £3.72 if for some reason it doesn't)
Pay by a cashback credit card (I get 1% on my EGG) and the best part of another £1 discount
I think that makes it £88 plus a few pence
Since it is over £39 you get FREE delivery
However IF that's STILL not good enough they do (did) have some "B" grade 12gb Starter Kits (full guarantee but damaged packaging/returned or similar) for just £79.99
OK you can't use the £7 off £100 (unless there's something for £20.01 that you really want/need) but there's a £3 OFF £50 version of the coupon and QUIDCO is still worth over £3 and anything your credit card can give you back.
My brother ordered one of these on Monday and got it yesterday.
Impossible to know why it was a "B" grade - everything pristine, sealed and wrapped as it should have been.
3 Mobile Dongle with 12gb/12months - Free delivey - Total cost £73
