Oh crikey I'm in a pickle!!:eek:

I called the store Im supposed to do a MS for on friday with GAP to check their opening times. They informed me that the phone people whom im supposed to visit are no longer based in their store. Ive emailed GAP but no reply. I know they dont like phone calls but does anyone have their number they could PM me cos i really think they would want to know this

I'd leave it tbh. You've done all you can - if they're not reading emails, that's their problem, I wouldn't go out of your way to get their attention, you're not being paid enough to.

But a Newbie must have SEARCHED for the thread, and surely the title of it "ALERTS ONLY" - must give a clue what it's for?

Maybe the bit that says "Mystery Shopping" could be taken out of the title so that when newbies search for info on MS-ing that thread doesnt show up? Timne you started the Alerts thread could that be done?

Who knows! But...if they do sack you, then surely you'd not want to work for a company that'd sack someone for such a thing anyway, if that makes sense?

I mean, if they sack you then that just shows how badly they treat their workers.

Certainly can! What do you suggest - will just "The alerts thread" suffice do you think?

I'm looking at it more from the posters P.O.V. - I very much doubt it was anything more than a mistake, and if I was that poster and had seen monkey's post I'd probably be offended and would probably never dare post anything again!

I agree they should have seen the "Alerts only" in the title, but perhaps they were just browsing around and the content of the thread title slipped their mind.

I just think angry outbursts are a little disproportionate, especially in relation to a new poster - just send them a polite PM answering the question and explaining about the difference between the two threads (which I have already done for the post in question btw).

I'd cancel the assignment - and if you want to, send them another email outlining the reasons (called store, section to be visited was shut, and received no response from GAP so could not proceed with visit). I think, if you did that, it would be VERY unreasonable of them to sack you.

Conversely, I would not cancel the assignment. Email GAP again every day or so until you get a reply. IMO it's better for them to cancel the job, knowing the reason, than for you to do it and they may overlook your emails. Also, if you cancel it and someone else picks it up then it's a waste of that person's time too.
