Unless its changed recently, feedback is in 3 parts:-

    1) Feedback - Positive, Neutral or Negative

    2) Comment - In your case you could use "good product but high PnP for small/light item".

    3) Star rating - 1 to 5 stars depending on your opinion of item, PnP, communication etc.

With those three methods you can clearly get your point across to other potential buyers.

Are you in Northern Ireland or Eire ?

If you are in Northern Ireland, then UK postage is UK postage (the PO do not charge less for you living down the road) and you knew the cost and hance the total price when you paid.

If you are in Eire then you got a bargin anyway.

Yes, it's fee avoidance, but as a buyer, you knew the total price you were paying for the item and were still happy to bid.

In my view, a neg would be inappropriate, but you should mark down on the star ratings.

    That seems a bit rude.

Just because you know how much something costs does not mean you know if you are being overcharged. I did not know I that 4.99 was excessive. I trusted that the seller based it on what it would cost to send. I thought using inflated P+P to increase profits was frowned upon. Or is it accepted practice?

It's rude because you're dripping like a wet weekend about the price of something you were happy to pay.

Get over it and move on.

Was the item listed as a sample size item? Did it state the quantity? If it was a perfume for examlple it would have been 2ml or thereabouts. Some make up samples such as lipstick blusher sometimes have a weight - some don't. Having sold similar items I always state these are sample size and list the dimensions if no quantity stated.

He was happy to pay when he thought the postage was fair! Thats the point that you seem to be missing.

I always up my postage price to cover the costs of time taken to wrap, get down to the post office (usually takes up you're whole lunch hour at work), the petrol used to get there, the sodding paypal fees and the bloody hassell!

Also, anything to screw ebay over as much as they screw us over on a daily basis is fine by me!

Simple fact is, you willfully entered a contract to pay that amount. No point locking the stable door after the horse has bolted.

I agree with many other posts...
When I buy something, I look at the cost of the item & postage. Then I weigh up how much I want to pay and bid.
Especially with the new 99p free listing introduction. The place is absolutely full of different listings and sellers end up with very low prices for their items..
Then they have to go and buy envelope (you think that jiffy bag was free??), jump into the car, go to the post office, wait miles long queue and all that for 99p.

Next time, look at the postage as a part of the price. That is what it is on the end of the day.

Mail shops also charge flat charge delivery across UK.

In the long term battle of screwing, who do you think will win? And why do you think there have been so many changes to eBay over the recent years?

Also - YET ANOTHER P&P thread....

People will always gouge on the P&P charges, but whilst there are people happy/stupid/naive enbough to pay the excessive amount, then people will continue to use this listing strategy.

Simple answer. If you think the P&P is too high, then do not bid. Otherwise, eBay will simply force free P&P onto more categories, and then we get a whole new breed of whinging threads.
