3rd party on other cars is included in policies taken out after August this year.
but as it's a budget insurance policy, it depends on the car you're insuring. I'm with them on my £700 MR2 because if i write it off it won't be worth claiming; but from the bad reports I might not want to insure a £10,000 car with them.0 -

Thanks, didn't know that re 3rd party, but to be honest can't see when I would ever need it. Our car is a Picasso- probably worth around £4-5,000 so I might risk it
I also see that it covers European cover as well which is a bonus0 -
I didn't to be honest but when I was taking out my policy they came back as cheapest by about £200. I wasn't expecting the DOC but my documents came back with it and I think I spotted it somewhere that it was introduced after august (or april) this year.0

For selected drivers only, it is not wise to assume you have driving other cars with any Insurer. You need to check whether it's specifically covered on the Insurance Certificate for a definative answer0 -
Thanks, anything else I should be aware of or give some thought to before signing up?
Cheers0 -
I took out a car insurance policy with these on november the 27th and it is still not showing on the insurance database despite numerous calls and being told it would be updated.
In the mean time i have to avoid passing any ANPR cameras or leaving it parked un attended in case it gets lifted for having no insurance.
Does anyone else really need this sort of hassle, my advice is to stay well away.
Like others, i was drawn by the cheaper premiums.

I took a policy out some days' ago, before reading of others' problems. I got worried and email to cancel - within the 14 day 'cooling off' period and before the policy becomes 'live'. The reply: a £50 admin fee will be deducted 'as per policy documents'. I went to the online policy documents and found this:
"Cancellation
You may cancel Your Policy and receive a full refund up to 14 days after receipt of the Policy, subject
to no claim having been made upon the Policy. If You do not exercise this right to cancel Your Policy,
it will remain in force for the term of the Policy and You will be required to pay the Premium. If You
want to cancel Your Policy after 14 days you will need to contact 1st Central Policy Support Team on 0845 194 9930. No refund will be payable."
and in another section of your online documents:
"If you cancel your policy within 14 days after the start of your policy you are entitled to a refund, subject to no claims being made on the policy."
I've quoted this and avised that I'll complain to the FSO if they deduct as the above is clearly misleading.
What sparked my worry was an email from them a day or two after buying the policy stating that despite requests I hadn't sent NCB proof. There had been no requests! This, with others' experience, suggests they don't know what they're doing - and the above issue just adds to that perception...0 -

You are on a loser here (many other insurers also would have charged you their admin fee for cancelling in the cooling off period).
They clearly state it:Following receipt of your policy documents you have a 14 day cooling off period during which you may cancel your policy provided no claim has been made and you have not been involved in an incident which might give rise to a claim under the policy. You will receive a pro rata refund but a cancellation fee will apply to cover the costs of setting up the policy.0 -
Before purchasing my insurance with 1stcentral... doesn't say anything regarding third party cover on other cars. Where can I check this? I'm 26 so presume it'll be included??0
