Listening to a voice on the phone explaining 10 to the dozen what the insurance will cost me, I agreed to pay £320 which was taken out of my account 2 weeks before the insurance was due to start. I did however cancell the next day having read comments on this site about 1s Central, and was told it would cost me £10 cancellation fee, I had to accept that. Instead of getting £310 back I got £263. Now you know why I'm very hissed off 57 (£57 SHY) DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU CAN LISTEN VERY FAST!0

Hi, I am in the process of looking for car insurance. 1st Central was identified as reasonable for my hubby's car, but I have never heard of them before, so I thought I would search for them on this forum. Glad I did .... don't think I will bother now!0

I have just cancelled my Insurance with 1st Central (looking at the posts on this site they are not getting any better) and how I wish I had viewed this site before I renewed.
I can see that Tom from 1st Central visits this forum but has anybody had any luck with their CEO Mike Leonard? I have written to him but if anybody has the E-Mail format for this company if you message me I will be able to work out his E-Mail address. Thanks :mad:0 -
Well I wanted to cancel my policy - I phoned and the option I selected "any other matters", just took me back to the beginning of the menu.
Eventually I got through to a human who answered the phone with "sales". I explained I wanted to cancel and she hung up on me.
All this on their 0844 number - which is expensive from a mobile. Sigh.
Letter by recorded delivery it is then.

If anyone is thinking of taking out a policy with this company, DON'T!! They'll find any excuse they can to get money out of you. The customer service is terrible and they'll happily leave you on hold for ever.
My registration number was wrong by one digit and twice I was quoted £25 to change it. When I did actually come to change it I was told that the charge would be £30 and £25 was a mis-quote by both of the advisors- or maybe they are just making up the tariff as they go along?
Cancelling the policy would cost me £50 as well as the £200 initial payment! I only hope that I never have to make a claim because I doubt I'd get anything from them.
Avoid this company at all costs!! I just wish I'd been on this forum before I took the policy out0 -

Wrote to CEO Mike Leonard at their main address and got a speedy response, they refunded me everything I had overpaid, and refunded the cost of the calls, very apologetic over the phone but their response letter was no-where near an apology.
Cheque cashed, monies cleared, hard lesson learnt - what total charlatans0 -
