I was horrified when i saw all the complaints re insurance claims and non insurance.
I had to claim for a new windscreen so i phoned the freephone number and got through straight away. The appointment was booked for 2 days later and the man turned up ON TIME. I was amazed. He done the replacement quickly and professionally, cleaned up after himself took my payment and left.
On that experience i would use them again:T.

Insurers normally get the windscreen replacement company eg Autoglass to deal with all of their windscreen claims from start to finish including answering the claims call. So the person who you spoke to probably did not work for 1st Central but whoever fitted the windscreen.

So it was unlikely that the person you spoke to worked for 1st Central which probably explains why the service was so prompt

:(I am unfortunately with 1central too. I had a little accident in the end of May. No my mistake. It took ages just get my car fixed and more than 3 months later it is still open. 1central is not bothered to inform me and resolve it. They are saying that it will be 50/50.
I am not staying with this insurence company and I will be happy pay more just for decent service.
Got the house:j/ got mortgage for 25 y:eek:

  • I called 1st Central, 2 days later it was booked in for repairs, 1 week later the car is fixed.

I was scared to death of having to claim after reading these threads, but my claim was dealt with quickly and efficiently.
  • I've posted this as a new thread but I would like anybody here to see this. I have had a recent claim against me so mishandled by 1st Central that I now have a CCJ aganst me. Anybody got any ideas as to what I should do?

    Regards
    Mike

Escalate with 1st central. Their legal dept should have no problem getting this set aside (ie. removed as if it never happened).

this is just about to happen to me also. An accident in January is still ongoing and has been so pathetically handled that i've been served and am awaiting my day in court. Everythign we have done has been documented and we have reciepts for post etc, 1st Central even dispute the postage dates and reciept dates of documents we have sent even though we have proof of posting and delivery.

nothing with these people surprises me and to be honest i think we all need to club together and Watchdog their !!!!!!!!

  • 6months later and I am back

I am now trying to find out what the deal is with my NCB, thought I would not waste my time or money phoning, so i did the modern thing and emailed them, I got a automated response and I have still not heard a thing two weeks later....surely they don't have that many emails to respond too

I just wish they had a complaints department, their customer complaints department don't seem to given a hoot! nearly 6months and I have not had a reply for them either.
