To be fair I didnt claim to be an expert did I?????

The vast number of complaints seem to be about getting through to customer services, the post above mine said they got through in under 5mins on 2 occasions. I dont need to be an expert to be reassured that they have found customer services ok do I???

The number of posts often indicate if someone has an agenda for being here, we all know that people use these boards to both promote and slate companies, yes I know people can turn up here just to feed back their experiences without a hidden agenda but again I dont need to be an expert if I feel reassured by a poster that has been on this board since 2006 rather than the ones (shell666, twiglet22, Alan Hill and Shogun266 yes 4 new posters on page 6 of this thread all with accounts opened in feb 2010) who have just registered this month and have only posted on this subject.

Does this mean that I cant post here until I need to make a claim, and if this follows through should we remove all posts about life insurance because unless we personally claim on them we cant talk about it?

I do believe you are living up to your name, I cant see anything in my post that should have rattled your cage but my sincere apologies if there was anything about by post (and me being reassured by a long term poster) that offended by you!

    Fair enough.

To be honest, what rattles my cage (and from your reply this probably doesn't apply to you) is that on a lot of the different forums on this site, people belittle or dismiss new posters gripes simply because they are new posters.

A lot of the time, people will have an issue - and this is particularly relevant to insurance when claims happen - and then go and google the firm that they are having trouble with. This will then invariably lead them to a forum where other people are having the same issues, prompt them to register and then share their own experiences.

Too often on here their posts are treated as irrelevant because they are 'newbies'. This is what annoys me. Someone could have posted 10,000 times on a 'What shall we have for breakfast' thread and this somehow gives their first post on an insurance issue than a 'newbie'.

Hopefully you see my point. If you are not one of these people then I apologise.
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.
  • The accident repair center called me to say it had been written off in their eyes, called 1st centeral got through almost immidiatley after the spiel about different phone numbers. Told me an engineer would asses the condition of the vehicle and that they would give me an offer within the week.

Thats my 4th contact now and mostly at peak times and have not witnessed any of the problems being stated in this thread. I will let you know if they give me a decent valuation or if they try and spank me.

Good post rudekid, I think the reason this particular thread gets a lot of posts from new posters is when they have a problem with 1st central and google the company name this thread comes second on the return. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=1st+central+car+insurance&meta=&aq=0&oq=1st+centra

We all have to start somewhere and it would be great for everyone if the new posters had a look around the whole MSE site as it's not just for moaning or getting advice on a problem. There are threads and advice that could benefit most people.

It would also be nice if the new posters came back and posted to say how their problem was resolved etc

I have been keeping my progress updated. Also, I was directed straight to this site when I typed 1st Central into google. Yes its my first post on the insurance thread but I have been a part of this site for years as have many others...............

  • Took out a policy with them 2 weeks ago, yeah I take some responsibility, but I quote the 'company man' from May 2009, "We'll take these (comments) on board and make sure we include them as part of our upcoming Product Review." Well, 9 months on and the review didn't amount to much is all I can say. The car went into, and had to stay, in the garage today. They gave us a courtesy car and having loitered around for more than 5 hours I get home to find I'm not covered to drive it. I'm a very tolerant man but I am fit to burst, hence this message! It's a good job my wife has a decent policy on a 66 Beetle. Doesn't it make you laugh?

  • Had my first set of problems today, I was promised a call to let me know if it was regarded as a total loss and what their offer would be, got nothing. I called them and they said has somebody from motorquest not called you yet. Why should they be calling me, and no they didn't. Opinion is now dropping, it is now 11 days since the accident and we are no closer to knowing the outcome than 11 days ago.
  • This does not surprise me at all!!!

Please do not deal with 1st central, I have literally spent hours trying to get through to them and they do not answer. It is funny because if you dial sales they answer straight away when they think they are getting new business. I am literally pulling my hair out!!! Ive been promised the use of a hire car, and still do not have it after an entire week!!! Ive been promised calls back and do not get them. DO NOT USE 1ST CENTRAL THEY ARE CROOKS!!!
  • More empty promises today, no answers. end of day 12, things no clearer than day 1.
