  • Grrrrrrrrr, almost a week later and i'm still having to get the train and cycle the best part of 30 miles to work and back. They still haven't picked my car up, still no courtesy car, very little communication either from 1st Central or from the garage. All I had yesterday was that the garage would phone me up yesterday (3/2) but still nothing. They all seem to be very evasive and good at dodging questions. I asked how long it would take, they said you'll have to wait form the phone call. Never again will I opt for cheaper car insurance, they just don't seem to have the capacity to cope.....

this don't look good does it lol
  • Anybody reading this. Please do not purchase your car insurance with 1st Central. They are the worst company I Have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. It takes at least 30 minutes to get through. Then when you finally do, the person can only take a message and get somebody to ring you back. WHICH THEY DON'T. My car has now been sitting at the garage for over 2 weeks, waiting for somebody to give the go ahead. After trying to ring every single day, still no joy. They should not have company's like this on Confused.com. My fault I should of checked out before purchasing I suppose :-( Will make sure everybody knows though!!! Just posting it on Facebook now!!!!

    Hi Ellissa,

I’m Tom – Head of Business Development at First Central Insurance Services. I’m sorry to hear you had to cancel your policy with 1st Central.

As an organisation we are very keen to hear our customers view and opinions. We noticed your recent post and as a result of your comments and other customer feedback we are now in the process of evaluating whether this can be included with our private car policies as standard.

I will keep this thread updated with any developments.

    Kind regards,

    Tom
  • I agree. Lets get them on TV!!!
I hate to think what my phonebill will be like! I will be looking at cancelling my policy immediatley!!!!

Surely there must be someone who can shake this company up!!!.
Come on Martin..lets get them on the TV!!!
At the very least get them to ditch this ludicrous £30 fee as a gesture of goodwill to all its current customers -then the onus is on them to resolve this totally unacceptable customer service or their customers will walk.
Alternatively how about a claim against the company for the stress caused to those who have had an accident and are awaiting resolution or to those of us who are dreading having an accident in case we are left stitched up with huge bills but cannot afford to lose £30!!!
  • Update: still no luck, my car hasn't even made it the garage. This has to be the worst company out there for customer service. "someone will ring you back" never has anyone rung me back. I'm still having to cycle and get the train. It take me and hour and a half now to do what was a half hour journey. Never ever again.

Why don't you try sending Tom1stcentral who works for them and used to come on here saying how great they were but strangely fell silent when the flood gates of complaints started on MSE. He appears to have given up on trying to polish the proverbial turd.

He does come on MSE most days to read the latest complaints.

If we could get him to speak he would no doubt still be telling us they are addressing their problems, blah blah blue sky thinking blah, we have had focus meetings and are bringing driving other cars in blah blah.

Anyway you can send him a personal message through here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/member.html?u=752689

Personally I would just write to the Telegraph's financial agony aunt as their rubbish overall service needs drawing to a wider audience and I'm confident she will get your problem sorted out http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/consumertips/jessicainvestigates/6858891/Readers-subsidence-claim-settled-for-73500.html
  • Hi,

I too am having problems with 1st Central, had an accicent last wednesday and am still waiting to be contacted by the garage and haven't received an email from 1st central to confirm my claim, I've phoned everyday but I just keep getting told it's all in hand when obviously it isn't. I held on the phone for 55 minutes yesterday before getting through. I am driving around with 3 young children in a car with 2 smashed windows, not ideal...
I've sent 2 emails to them this morning I just hope it's get sorted soon.
  • Finally finally had a call back today from 1st central and from Kindertons. Kindertons told me they couldn;t do anything because liability was in dispute. 1st central said they would get me a car etc and get my car picked up tomorrow. So lets just see if this happens. Oh and emailing them, pffff, I've emailed them several times over the last week and a half and only had an automated reponse. I;ve been on hold for what seems like days and 1st central always tell you someone will ring back, and they do, except it happens a week and a half later.........

well, going by everyone elses experience, don't expect a call from the garage until a week later, dont expect a response from an email and expect to be on hold all week, when you finally get through, xpect to be told someone will call you back and then expect to wait a week and half for them to actually do it. Sorry to be blunt
