I used my card in a few shops and on the till receipts it simply says Visa.
Dependent on which store you are in, the PDQ machine/till software will take the 'brand' of the card that is printed on the receipt either from their own systems, or from the 'application label' from the chip on the card itself.
Some banks customise this label, and I know that HSBC for their Visa debit cards, it simply appears as 'Visa'. Barclays cards always appear as 'Connect Debit'. Capital 1 credit cards always appear as 'Cap 1 Mastercard' and for some reason Lloyds Airmiles Duo Amex always appears as 'Personal Account'.

I received my new supposid cashminder debit card - same numbers as my electron, tesco internet grocery shopping refused it as they say it's still an electron card, did my grocery shop with sainsburys internet(who accept electron) and the card came up as an electron still - so I'm totally confused
when is a debit card not a debit card? when it's a Cashminder electron pretending to be a debit card!!!!!!!

I noticed on Never in doubts post on the HSBC thread; he has posted actual pics of the HSBC debit card, one is the 2 in 1 (full authorisation) Then the full debit card with cheque guarantee and the first 4 numbers on both cards start the same?
Wondering if anyone has the 2 in 1 HSBC Visa debit can say if they can use it fully, say Tesco online for instance?

PS sorry to repeat from my earlier post!0 -
