yeah thats right.. thats what im doing lol! the people in phones4u confused me !! kept telling me i paid one month ahead which i only clicked onto last month lol... your may bill is actually junes bill and junes is julys.. so that when u get to november youv paid your contract off and can upgrade.. so in effect you only have to pay til november!2009 Wins : 0

On o2 I downgraded from £25 down to £150

oh right, yeah i might consider that, but i need to have a look at my finances when my eyes dont need matchsticks to stay open! Im still going to ring and try my luck first as i think thats alot of money to pay considering i havnt had any reimbursement for their ****up0

Ya dont need to do it one step at a time downgrading, Think they just say that.0

No you actually do, on the old tariffs you could downgrade straight away and pay the difference, but not anymore, and it's detailed in the T's+C's..
OP, if you've completed 9 months of your contract then you can start to downgrade. And as I mentioned before, if you were originally on the £25 and moved to £35, then you can go straight to £25.
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
I was told I could downgrade as far as I wanted, Went from £25 right down to £15, Just told them I wasnt using the phone.0

i will tell them i wont be using the phone and that i would be still with them but on another higher paying contract0

Couldn't you just change your current bolt on to unlimited web, you would still get 1,000 texts? Then buy a payg iPhone switching to £20 pm Simplicity when your current contract expires.0

I agree with BarGin about changing rather than downgrading tariff
The £35 a month contract comes with one free bolt-on, and you ought to able to switch mid-contract, so choose unlimited internet. The included texts are either 500 or 1000; I believe this number depends on where the upgrade was done.
If those included texts still wouldn't be enough for you, look into services such as smsbug or Fishtext, which use a mobile Java client to send an equivalent using the phone's data connection, costing from a penny or so per message.0 -
but the payG iphone is £340/£390...thats a bit expensive for me upfront, whereas in bits and pieces its alot easier to find0
