My garden currently looks fantastic from a distance (lilacs, the end of the tulips & bluebells, aqueligias, irises, dicentra, clematis in the apple tree and lots of greenery). Close up, it's full of weeds and close to collapse! Sadly, although it's not a particularly big garden (40' x 60' ish...) it's too big for me to manage on my own :o and my new clematis has wilted

Hugs Abbie, sounds worrying about your dad and DH, hope your dad’s op goes well and your scan. Well done to DS for wearing his big boy pants!

And do have a go at knitting, it’s really good and very satisfying. There is lots of info on the internet that will help I should think, or a book from the library

On that rate you are more than welcome to come and do mine :D

and Triker you are spot on wiht anarchist - it was ten years ago though, and I have spent a lot of time reading tedious employment law since. I always wanted a copy just to see what it was about.

they can be used for numeracy AND/OR cooking!

Thanks Valli - I'll take them in when I go in for my meetings on Wednesday

ETA - soappie - I think you'd be better off working for hex... I'm not exactly in secure employment right now :D (and no, I haven't done anything about it yet... but the house is nearly tidy enough for me to run out of excuses!)

Hex - probably best not to let me loose in your garden... you might not get the desired result ;) My garden currently looks fantastic from a distance (lilacs, the end of the tulips & bluebells, aqueligias, irises, dicentra, clematis in the apple tree and lots of greenery). If that's not particularly big, then what's mine  It's a huge ................................................................................ 13' x 12' :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Stir fry is yummy, and plenty left for tomorrow so dinner will be quick and easy when I get in after Rainbows. Going to make myself a 'weightloss graph' to put up in the hope the visual will give me more motivation to eat sensibly and do some exercise.

Triker - my DH has just announced he used to own a copy too, and the ever popoular Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. BF at the time had me track down a copy of the Hackers Handbook, and I notice form Linked In he now runs his own IT firm which amused me.

Tell that to the carefully cultivated corner of weeds :o I think the main problem is I can't see it from inside my house so I'm not motivated to do much to it.

Dinner scoffed, so I should really go and get my stuff sorted for tomorrow - only 2 weeks till half term :D
