I think Paraquat has been banned these days. RoundUp is OK though. We sprayed our yard with roundup about a year ago, and have just had to weed this week.
Flea72 is right, you will still need to week periodically anyway. It might be easier just to hand weed the new weeds out when you see them coming, rather than wait till they are bigger."No matter how little money and how few possesions you own, having a dog makes you rich." - Louis Sabin0 -
RoundUp comes in different strengths. Rather than buy the ready made spray guns, have a look on the shelf in your local garden centre/DIY shop. They should sell other versions of Round Up in small bottles inside cardboard boxes. They usually only have a couple of facings of them. This is stronger than the stuff in the guns and might work better. Here I go again on my own....0

I find B&Q weedkiller pretty good0

Apparantly those weed burner things are pretty good.
Sort of like an extended blowtorch - available at Lidl for about £7, if you're lucky enough to see them before they sell out. Or on EBay for anything from £10 - £50 depending on the model. Just do a search for "Weed Burner"
I'm just looking for one for myself this very minute.

We use roundup, we buy it in bulk from the local farmers shop, it has to be diluted, and we use one of the large killasprays, it is very effective, but please follow the instructions carefully, and never use it when windy as it will overspray and kill any other plant it lands on, we have a really big area to cover and do it twice a year, however we have found with our drive that since we put down the round type of stones, the type that make a crunching sound when you walk on them, because they move all the time, the weeds don't seem to get a foothold, so use much less roundup in that area now. It will take about a week after spraying to notice the weeds dying, but trust me they will, and the more you do it the less weeds you will get. I hope that this has helped. xxxxMake it happen (old signature)

Hi Benidormqueen from sunny Doncaster,
We use Roundup on our block paving too, never had any problems, don't really know about cleaning them as ours are only a couple of years old, but would be interested for the future. xxMake it happen (old signature)

As with so many other things on this board... vinegar works well! Also, pouring boiling water on the weeds is often effective. Heck, double your fun by pouring boiling vinegar on 'em!0

Forget Round-up - use Tarmac! :rotfl:
